Description

Designed with a noise level as low as 51dB so you don't have to crank up the TV volume or start yelling to stay cool. If you don’t want the AC to run all day, you can use the 0-24 hour timer to automatically power the AC off. Combined with the sleep mode that increases the temp a few degrees while you sleep, these two modes help save money on your utility bill. Complicated installation steps can be a pain, so we got rid of them. With the quick-adjust window panel all you need to do is slide the panel to fit your window, tighten the adjustment knob, and connect the exhaust hose. Start cooling in minutes. Do you have that one room in the house that is too hot? Wheel in your Aovia portable AC unit and you can keep cool all summer long. Portable ACs can be moved from room to room depending on where you need to stay cool. The Aovia AC has a reusable air filter that can be washed every few months to keep it running efficiently. You can also activate the X-Fan feature to keep the fan spinning at a low speed after you shut the unit off, which will help dry out the internal components and exhaust hose in humid environments. The air outlets have wider openings so you can cover a larger area instead of a narrow, tightly focused flow of air. This makes the Aovia idea for your larger, more open spaces like living rooms, attics, or the garage. Great product at a good price. I have an open attic bedroom above the living room about 500 SQF, this unit cooled the whole space down in less than 20 minutes and kept it cool through out the night. Quieter than the Frigidaire 6000 BTU window air conditioner I have in another bedroom, and looks smart and unobtrusive. I've had another Tosot window unit for 4 years before this, and even when the digital display stops working, the unit continue to produce clean, efficient cold air. All these without any maintenance. New Review: Small, cute design, serves it purposes in the Los Angeles area. I was struggling with making this work, as it would stop and I could not turn it back on. They should mention this in the manual and on the product page, but this unit has a temperature sensor that will makes the unit stop once it reaches the desired temperature, saving energy. Every time you turn the AC on or OFF, it will stop for 3 minutes, to help give longevity to the condenser as well, which I am sure is a good thing. In COOLING MODE, after you reach the desired temperature, it will not turn on again for at least the 3 minutes to save the condenser longevity, and until the temperature rises again. You can either set the temperature lower, or change to DRY MODE to make it run, but remember the DRY MODE is the DEHUMIDIFIER mode, which will create more water. The unit also has the FAN mode, which will only blow the air inside the room. The unit is very symmetrical and small, like all others, it has the standard large hose blowing air outside (I wish they would make a smaller one and sell separately), very clean, and it is obviously noisy, but not like many other units out there. I use for my bedroom, in Los Angeles, and it is honestly enough to cool it very well and VERY quickly. It evaporates the water automatically, so no need to dump it. BUT REMEMBER, I live in Los Angeles, which is not too humid. Over all, I was worried about this, but so far, I love it, really do. It seems to have decent quality, so I hope it lasts for a long time! I will probably only use it for about 1 month out the year and put it away, but so far, I am loving it. Original Review: First of all. This is pretty small, beautiful, but the bad reviews are true. Unit turns off completely every 5 to 10 minutes. Will not turn on again for 20 or 30, no matter what you do. You can plug it off and back on, reset, press all buttons. The compressor will not work again for 20 to 30 minutes. It only works when it wants. It will work for 5 to 10 min, then turn off and will not turn on again for another 30 minutes or so... it varies. Terrible. FAN and DEHUMIDIFIER will work, but NOT the cooling AC. Seems like it is by design. I did not believe it, so I purchased it... but not YOU BELIEVE ME, the 10,000 BTU works this way. My house does not have A/C and the summers kill but after getting this my house is bearable during the heat.. So far.. The remote doesn't seem to work well, if I try to change the setting using the remote the machine sets itself to low and dry. I need to press the buttons on the machine to change the fan intensity and to use the cool/fan options. Also the draining kind of sucks but that's not the fault of the unit itself. I'm unsure if I'm doing it right but it sounds very wet when I leave the drain blocked/closed so I installed the little hose that came with it and have it draining into a bucket which I have to empty every 3-4 hours or so with continuous use. This is a little annoying because I work nights and sleep during the day when it's hottest so it's continuously running and I have to rely on my boyfriend or mother to remember to check the bucket otherwise it overflows. Sleep mode is fine though.. for night time when it cools down, it runs occasionally and we don't really need to check the bucket. Again I'm no hvac expert so I'm not sure if I'm using the drain correctly but I have it placed in the only window that it will fit and haven't figured out a better way to have it drain. All in all, I'm in love with this unit so far and I'm glad I got it because it saves my ass when it's hot. ... show more

This little compact a/c is a beast!! I love it! I got if for a master bedroom and in height of a heatwave it kept it nice and chilly. I did put up black out curtains to kept out the sun. It was super easy to set up. Directions were easy to follow. The room was cooled in under an hour & it was unbearably hot. Ultimately this little unit cooled my whole apt when I put a fan in the hallway of the bedroom to circulate the air. I’ll be honest I kept it running non stop for 3 days on high in the day & on low setting at night. The air flow is strong. It’s quiet for a portable a/c. It’s no louder than a fan on medium. I’m very happy so far with this unit. It survived & performed well in its first heatwave. If anything goes wrong I will comeback with an update. This is not a paid for review! ... show more

Well! It’s a keeper. 10,000btu. The air blows straight out closest to the unit but more to the left when sitting far away from the unit. If you’re the type of person that like the cold air blowing directly on you when directly in front of it you will have to tilt it a little or position yourself to the left cause it’s blows full force TO THE LEFT. I don’t know what it is but this is the 2nd AC I purchased that’s operates like this. It has a square hard plastic non removable piece placed behind the louvers blocking half the vent. If they’re all made like this I don’t know but this one works much better than the one I previously had to return - IT DOES THE JOB in cooling me off and that’s what is important. Update: 3yrs later review- the AC is leaking water after completely draining. Have to use a baking pan to catch the water leaking from the bottom. Started shortly after purchasing but didn’t think it was abnormal as this is my first floor AC unit. When I realized it’s not normal it was way too late to return. $300 down the drain. Tired of mopping up water. Purchased another one on Amazon but not this Brand. With the new one, when delivered will keep a sharp eye out on leaks for sure. Photos show the leakage. ... show more

I have purchased the 8k btu for a bedroom and both the 12k btu & 14k btu for the living room. 8,000 BTU AC: Works great even with the fan developing a spot without air. My bedroom is about ~125 sqft connected to a ~50 sqft closet that connects to a ~50 sqft bathroom. This cools all of that great, my room gets COLD. I can run it without cycling as long as it’s set to a low setting (61-65°F) or on “dry” mode. Small compared to other machines, easy to move and set up. Nois is as expected, like a loud box fan (I like loud white noise), have not had any leaks or drainage issues. 14,000 & 12,000 BTU ACs: Same experience for both, but I had the 14k longer. The pros are the decent size, and the WiFi option is nice. However, both did not cool my space. I used the 14k for longer and If anything, it made my space hotter. My living area is somewhat small. Open living/kitchen & attached den space are all around 350 sqft, this claims to cool 600 at peak. This cycles too often and the compressor is off & blowing hot air for way longer than it is on (attached photos shows how many minutes it’s on vs off). I followed the directions, I made sure everything was how and where it needed to be, I even insulated the hose. Nothing worked. I even tested it on a cool day where the temp was 65° out and it ended up making my space 76°. The cycling is way too big a disturbance to make it functional as an AC even on a cool day in my experience. ... show more

It was a very hot when it arrived so waiting the allotted time to allow refrigerate was tough but well worth it as it cools the room very nicely. The installation was easy. Nice packaging allows, you to lift the box off once you cut all the binding strips so to don't have to lift it out of the box. A little heavier than expected for carrying upstairs, but once there it rolls nicely on the wheels. The set up instructions were easy to follow and the window vent works well. The heat it pushes out through the vent is amazing. The unit is not that loud, but I had no idea what to expect and had chosen this one because of the great "sound ratings" so I'm glad I didn't the the louder ones. It is a little louder than the rotating fans it replaced but the temperature difference is awesome and worth it. I work from home and even sitting only 5 feet from the desk, no one is able to hear it on the conference calls so very pleased with that. The temperature settings and the fan settings work exactly as you would expect with very easy controls run with the remote or on the top of the unit.
