The media could not be loaded. My main experience comes from using camp stoves and propane stoves/heaters. This uses alcohol like an alcohol stove, which I've never used before. The price is very nice in comparison to others types of small fire pits like this, and this has some extras. It comes with a felt pad if you wanted to use it, but I found the concrete and coaster it comes with insulates heat well as it is. I have some 70% isopropyl alcohol in our medicine cabinet and poured just a little bit into the wick material to get it wet and lit it. It burned very well with a small flame nicely for 15 to 20 minutes hardly using up any of my alcohol bottle. I do want to point out something I think is your biggest concern to look into, and that is the wick material in it. As I was examining this since I had no past experience with alcohol stoves, I pulled out the cloth wick material which was inside of it. After I pulled it out, I saw lots of shining particles flying out in the air. As near as my research will show, this is a ceramic wool type wick material. Inhaling these particles are undoubted not a good thing for you. However, when burning inside the stove, I saw none of the sort coming out of it. I would advise getting a good burn going on this right off the bad to hopefully quell that aspect of the wick material before you whip it out and get fiberglass-type particles floating into the air. Beyond that, you could just burn this as a generic alcohol stove with no wick, but I do believe the wick greatly extends burn time on this. I still need to do some research before I burn marshmellows in it for s'mores for the kids as it advertises. It does say to use 70% to 90% alcohol as recommended for it. I have a gallon of denatured alcohol from the hardware store I thought I would use in this as that gallon says clean burning fuel on it. However, I've read denatured alcohol is intentionally poisoned and toxic to prevent consumption of it. Something I would probably not want to introduce in roasting marshmallows. But, this is a pretty, sleek, very simple with no moving parts, and using a fuel that you probably already have in your household as it is little firepit you can toss on your table to add ambience as it takes up about the space of my two hands gripping it. I think it would be totally awesome at nighttime for turning down some of the lights and just using the flame lighting. I say to give it a try, but recommend doing a bit of your own research so you don't spill it and make a fire. ... show more

I recently ordered this from Amazon and I have to say, I am pleased. The design is modern and sleek, making it a great addition to my tabletop. It arrived with a broken base. I guess I can fix it with superglue, but I shouldn’t have to. I’m getting very disappointed with vendors who apparently rely on bulk quantities of orders to generate revenue.

This table top fire is the best. It puts out heat and is big enough to make s'mores with. It is very easy to use and operate. It is very sturdy and gift able.
