  • Inexpensive!

  • I returning this product because the blades have little longevity.
Style: 1200W
The planner has a great motor. The blades are junk and could barely handle pine..I understand this is an economical tool. An upgrade for the whimpy blades would make this tool a rock star...spend the extra money and buy the 4 3/8 Makita.

  • If you plain on this planer doing its job you may want to check elsewhere.
Style: 710w
A 30 day return policy shows exactly what the manufacturer thinks of the tool they are selling! Mine burnt up planing 3” wide 2’ long poplar maybe 15 to 20 boards into the process . Wasn’t taking away but maybe 1/64”. The 7 to 10 boards it did plane it done an okay job , but for a tool that had no more than 30 mins run time tops to burn up on poplar is a joke now had it been hickory or oak wouldn’t have said a word but poplar? C’mon. ... show more

  • Good planer, great price!
Style: 710w
I have never used a handheld planer before and I thought I’d give it a go on a project I’m currently working on. I’m edge joining boards to make a larger surface and will need to plane down the surface and then hit the surface with a palm sander. The planer is quite light and I was sort of taken aback at this. I thought that the planer would be a bit heavier in the thoughts that extra weight would help the planer sit on the board. After a few trial passes I can say that the lightweight nature is not an issue and it’s nice that it’s not a heavy burden in the hands. Speaking of in the hands, the whole unit fits quite nicely and has a very natural feel to it when in use. I do wish the attached cord was longer so I don’t have to use an extension cord. I was also surprised how relatively “quiet” the tool is when running. Of course, you should always wear ear protection but it really is a quiet machine compared to say my belt sander. There is a knob in the front that your hand rests on and you can use to push the planer but the knob is actually the blade depth adjustment dial. You can adjust the blade depth in 1/128” increments. The bottom surface of the planer is 100% flat against a few straight edges in my garage. I like that the dust chute has the ability to be used on either side. Just unlock the dust chute insert with a slight twist, pull it out, put it back in from the other side, and twist to lock. This gives you the ability to use the planer in most settings and not be obstructed by a bag that might be permanently installed. I ran the planer on some test pieces of edge joined wood and my first go I dug a divot in the wood. As I said I’ve never used a hand planer so chewing up test wood was a good plan. It did take me a few passes over both sides of the test wood but I was able to get the hang of it with not all that much practice. I’m surprised that the tool doesn’t pull harder such as my aforementioned belt sander is want to do. After usage I was quite impressed at this little orange tool. I’m also impressed at the low price of the unit — $45 at the time of this writing — when some name brand planers can go for upwards of $100! All told, I am very impressed and feel that at the low price point this is almost a no brainer if you’re thinking about buying this. I can’t think of anything that I’d call a negative about this planer. If you read other reviews you can tell that my sentiment is shared with a lot of others as well. Quite a nice tool! Highly recommended to you. Cheers! ... show more

  • Great tool, good versatility
Style: 710w
This little planer does a great job with planing softer woods (that is all I tested, didn't have any hard wood on hand). The motor runs smoothly, and I was able to make micro adjustments, no problem. The tool is comfortable to use, and the front support handle gave me all the control I need. The v-groove is handy, but not sure if it is necessary. The groove allows you to align a sharp edged piece of lumber to the center of the blade. You will still have to control the angle of the bevel. Also, after the first pass, the groove isn't needed because you already have a beveled surface the won't fit in the groove. The blades are a standard 3 1/4" length. I would like to switch them out for a brand I am more familiar with, just to check, but I have yet to see if other blades will fit in this machine. I would suggest taking a blade down to you a local big box and compare the two. It also says there is a desktop mount to allow for stationary use. I haven't been able to see where to get it. I have yet to contact the manufacturer, but can't seem to find it online. The tool is handling great. Admittedly, I am not using a planer more than a couple hours a month (average). For the price point, I think it is a great bargain for any weekend woodworker. If I can find the desktop bracket, I can see my uses increasing. ... show more

  • Ideal for planing boards!
Style: 710w
The media could not be loaded. I can’t even tell you enough how much this thing comes in handy! Absolutely perfect for me in my shop! Saves me so much time and the results are amazing! Super lightweight and very easy to use! Adjustable depth control that leaves you with an impressively smooth (and flat!) edge! Hands down would recommend this to anyone! Easy to use and can even set the chip ejection to either side - (just twist and pull the tube and place on either side!) - Totally worth the grab and is super useful! 11/10 a winner for me! ... show more
