Used the planer for about 3 days, maybe 8 pieces planed, and the roller system broke and belts. Now waiting 2 weeks plus to get it back

I was planing a piece of maple, 6 inches by 3 feet, 2 inches thick. Some wood got between the blade guide and the blade. The wood shot out backwards and hit my workbench, narrowly missing me and knocking tools off my workbench, breaking my jointer. The cutter head is bent, and the planer is now a doorstop.
