**update 12/31/22** The company sent me 2 new tonie boxes. Had to Do a little trouble shooting with one but they both connected and work perfectly. They also sent shipping labels to return the boxes that did not work. Their communication via email was amazing! Changed 1 star to 5! I purchased two of these for my grandchildren on cyber Monday. I was so excited to set them up when they arrived. I am a pretty tech savvy person and found it absolutely impossible to connect the boxes to my Wi-Fi. I tried every troubleshooting option they had and I tried some of my own with no luck. After googling the issue I discovered that The company will exchange boxes with you, you just have to check the serial number, so apparently they are having issues. I will update my review if I ever receive my replacement boxes. On a sidenote I thought the little American flag on the corner of the picture meant that the Tonieboxes were made in America, they are not. ... show more

Update: yes it does work without wifi so it can be taken on the go. Only you cannot download new tonies without the wifi connection Do yourself a favor and BYPASS setting up on the app. That does NOT work. We set it up with the laptop and it was connected in about 2 minutes. When you setup on the laptop they will tell you that you have to find the specific tonies "wifi" network. That is probably why it never worked with setting up on the app. They don't tell you that in any of the instructions on the app. Now that it's setup the kiddo loves it. The characters are so cute that they keep taking them to play with! It's so simple to use and setup new characters. Just pop them on or off and you are good to go. Child can easily turn the volume up and down. Will have to go into settings because they want to skip certain stories and songs and we haven't figured that part out. We haven't been out of wifi range with it so I don't know if it will play without wifi or not while we travel. But you can buy headphones (they sell one) to connect to it so your child can just listen to it alone. You can either leave it plugged in on the dock or once its charged take it off so the child can take it around the house. The sides are soft and padded. A great screen free device to have and if you wait for prime or black friday you can get it for an amazing price. Our son recently started watching Paw Patrol, so this was the perfect bundle. He loves the music, and the stories are great to listen to at bed time, or while he’s playing. He likes to change the characters himself, which is pretty easy for him to grasp. We already bought a handful more Tonies to go with it! ... show more

We got both of our kids a Toniebox for Christmas (ages 4 and 21 months). We love all of the different figures that we can get for them. Our kids have had a blast with them. They are very high quality, the sound is great. I love that they are squishy and padded so if they get tossed around or dropped they are fine. We took them with us on a long road trip, and between them, snacks, and naps, we didn’t have to get an iPad out! ... show more

    • Really disappointing customer service
When we received this bundle, it only came with the Toniebox and the Chase Tonie, so was missing Skye, Marshall, and Playtime Puppy. The Toniebox wouldn’t turn on, so I spent hours trying to work it. I had to take the actual battery out of the bottom and unplug it/plug it back in for it to start working. Thankfully, it started up. However, we were still missing three Tonies. After a LONG conversation with customer service, they finally agreed to send the missing Tonies… and sent the wrong ones. So here we are, still missing part of our order. My kid are 3.5 and 6 and they loveeeeee the Toni boxes. There hasn’t been a character yet my kids don’t enjoy. They love listening to them when they’re just hanging in their rooms or falling asleep.100% would buy these again.
