Update: as of late March 2025 this bag is still holding up perfectly, it's leather so I mean it's important to clean and polish often but that's a given with this material. I use it daily for work and I genuinely don't think it is missing any features that I'd want a knife bag to have, so I absolutely recommend this over a nylon. I've only had it for a day so of course it hasn't been but to heavy use yet, but I'm very happy with the build quality of this backpack. The brand seems pretty solid in general and the leather is quite nice, I'd say this is absolutely superior to the "Retro" bag from a different company. Of course it being leather means caring for the material more than a nylon bag but that's really not a deterrent for me. Of course only so many people out there will need or want a chef backpack like this, but if you're on the fence about it I say to grab one.

This 'Tolredo Genuine Leather Chef Knife Bag Retro Backpack | 20+ Slots for Knives and Chef Tools' is a prime piece of workmanship for chef's, students of the culinary arts, or anyone who just loves to cook. It has so many storage options; 20 slots for assorted knives and tools, and extra pockets for storing the many other items so necessary to making any kit complete. And the build is impressive; nice rich genuine leather that will last forever, strong zippers and really good stitching. Let's face it, those who love to cook take their profession, or hobby, seriously, and they want a good way to carry the tools of the trade. I've had nylon bags and they were junk unworthy of my kitchen arsenal. This knife bag/backpack is what I've wanted and needed and now I can carry all my best stuff in style, with the assurance and longevity that strong leather provides. It has a special compartment for a tablet, if you care. But I use it for notes and my special recipe notebooks. If you're a student, it can come in handy for books or that aforementioned tablet. Extra room is always useful, and I love having a pocket for my spices, apron, gloves and lots of miscellaneous stuff I want to keep separate from my knives. And for all that leather this bag is surprisingly lightweight. It feels great when I'm carrying it, and the straps don't pinch or bite into me at all. It's very comfortable. I can't say enough good things about this bag; I love the storage capacity, pockets and the overall quality. And I'm not gonna lie, I love good leather! If you're looking for a knife bag/backpack, this is the one you're looking for. It's a beautiful investment for your special knives and tools. It's just perfect.

The leather they used to make this bag is beautiful! It's thick and soft while feeling quite heavy duty at the same time. It's a heavy bag even when empty. They used straps of the same type of leather inside the bag as well for holding knives and other cooking utensils. So the straps can hold up to a good bit of use and blade edges don't dull or accidentally cut through them. I use knife guards with my knives and do fit well inside each of the slots with the guards on. The zippers pull smoothly and overall I'm quite happy with the bag. The leather is thick and heavy enough that it doesn't feel like anything will push through very easily and it's much nicer to carry than a hard sided case.
