My new automatic incubator is probably the biggest incubator I've ever seen. I was able to put 48 true sized chicken eggs and a spiral perfectly. The incubator is made of very thin plastic on the top and very thin plastic on the bottom. There are many grooves inside the incubator which allows for egg, turning humidity control and temperature control. There is a valve where I feel with water when humidity gets low. The incubator is corded and not wireless. The incubator does have a countdown for 28 days for the development and hatching of the chicks. For a large flock. This is a wonderful addition to my farm and will also save us money from buying chicks. The only downside is the incubator is not made with strong quality material. And due to its size, I am afraid of cracking the thin plastic which would affect the temperature and the production of the chicks. ... show more

    • Entry level unit, Messy water system, cramped space for large breed chicks to hatch

Cutting to the chase… I can recommend this as a entry level incubator, but with the main caveat being that I feel it is just too small inside for normal or large breed chicks to hatch out and spend several hours drying out. We have chick getting wedged between unhatched eggs and the inside roof of the unit. Overly simple Controls: The controls are don’t have much you can set or adjust, although some people may prefer this. Cramped interior space: This incubator might be great for quail or bantam chicks, but for our normal to large breed flock the newborn chicks are cramped and getting stuck on unhatched eggs and wedged between them and the inside roof of the incubator. So far one had gotten wedged right up to the fan that circulates the warm air. Messy water system: The auto water system is two water bottle you provide screwed into bases that have plastic tube that connect to the incubator that fill channel around the inside perimeter of the dome. So you have to fill them, then hold your finger over the tube and quickly smash them onto the nipples spilling water in the process. Removing them is the same but in reverse so when you pry the tubes off the water from inside drains out, so you have to be ready for that. Pros. + can be operated off a 12 volt battery with the included cable. + It does work, we did hatch a batch of chicks. Cons. - I feel it is too small inside for anything bigger than quail, our chicks were getting stuck between unhatched eggs and the roof. - Messy watering system. - Oversimplified controls, with a lack ant advanced settings. PLEASE NOTE, My reviews reflect my personal opinion of the “customer experience” using the product based on the actual performance delivered vs what the product’s listed description, photos, and specifications promise. 1 Star - Very poor customer experience - Failed to meet major parts of it’s description. 2 Stars – Poor experience - Mostly as described but is ‘second-rate’, and/or a very poor value. 3 Stars – Average experience - reasonably meets the expectation promised in it’s description. 4 Stars - Good experience - Meets all described expectation, and a reasonable value for money. 5 Stars – Absolutely EXCELLENT experience! - FAR OUTPERFORMED all expectations! ... show more

    • A huge disappointment

The media could not be loaded. Looks great and it’s easy to assemble but it doesn’t function as advertised. The egg turner jumps up and just wiggles rather than turning the eggs and the temperature doesn’t match the read out. Wasted four chicken eggs testing this thing, very disappointed.

I love the candling light, and it was pretty easy to assemble and figure out instructions. The only thing I’m not sure on is the rotating of the eggs. I’ve had it plugged in for an hour and a half with some ceramic eggs to just show the process and they still haven’t rotated. It would be helpful if the instructions told you how often to expect rotation. It was very helpful they said to keep all styrofoam too!! KEEP ALL STYROFOAM!! ... show more

    • Lid is a little flimsy

I was hoping to replace my Brinsea with this incubator as it holds the same number of eggs. This one doesn't have a humidity pump like the Brinsea, but that was not a big deal since I'm hoping to do dry hatches since the humidity is already pretty high here. However, in my testing of this incubator the temps fluctuated a good bit. Humidity is provided by using a bottle turned upside down and the water drains into the incubator a small amount at a time. Not as easy to control (although I still struggled, even with the humidity pump on my other incubator). The lid is clear plastic, but it's not super rigid, which makes it a little more difficult to lift off and put back on. I will try a hatch in here in the spring but my prelim testing isn't the most promising. ... show more
