I have a awning on my porch and when the wind blows it's like a parachute lifting the framing up and down. I bought these and anchored them in between the flooring. I then used cordage and tied down the very ends of both sides of the awning. It keeps the frame tight and no movement.

I bought these to replace my homemade tiedowns for between deck boards. We get a lot of wind here, and if I have an umbrella or anything else up on the deck, it wants to blow it over very easily. I made my own tiedowns, and I think that I’ll have to stick with them for a while, because these just are not strong enough for what I need. It’s a good idea, but the spring needs to be stronger, and the base needs to be wider for my purposes. They move too much within the space, and work themselves free. Overall, the overall quality was good, but the spring was a little bit loose than I was expected. I have not tried this on because there is not that much platform campsite. And I just rest my tent on the platform without any tiedown spot. Last time we will see if this thing become useful.

Idea is good. The issue is a safety one. When using with bungee cords get an extra pair of hands to hold it in place when securing. If it moves it might turn enough to spring out and strike you.
