I mounted this motor on a 30"x30"x 1/4" expanded metal diamond shape horizontal shaker screen. Works well for low moisture soil (not wet sticky soil). It is just powerful enough to get the job done relatively quickly with not-too moist soil, and not having to wear earplugs. If I was to design another screen setup, I would go diagonal and double the size of the screen length to run off large debris and double the size of the motor to be more of an aggressive shaker. I would wear earplugs then. Over all, a decent motor for the money!

The motor works well for screening topsoil. The included instructions clearly explain the wiring and how to adjust the force of the vibration. They are shipped from the factory with the maximum vibration force, but can be adjusted to reduce the vibration. So it's better to buy a larger motor and plan to adjust it downwards. I bought the 30 watt model but wished I had gone with a larger motor

I built a 4x8 foot sifter out of 2x3's and hardware cloth that I set an angle, hoping that I could throw compost onto it and let gravity do the work of sifting the compost as it slid down my sifter ramp. Unfortunately, gravity alone did nothing, the compost just sat on my slide without moving. I then jimmy-rigged an old drill into a sort of vibrating motor. It worked great! But then it burnt up. Since I proved the concept of a vibrating element worked well, I bit the bullet and bought the 30W version of this vibrating motor. It was much too weak, didn't work for my large sifter. I then got the next cheapest option, which for some reason was this 90W motor. It's fantastic! It's quieter and much more effective than my hacky drill solution. It hums along nicely and sifts lots of compost and wood chips quickly. The chips dance nicely on the hardware cloth, sifting out the fine elements while the larger discard things easily move down the slide and out of the way.

When you get around to wiring in a plug for this critter, stand back when you plug it in! It scared the crap out of me jumping to life as it vibrated across the garage floor. NOTE: Read thru all the reviews until you get to the guy who shared as to how to wire it. The color codes for Chinese wiring is NOT what you think it is. Either read that review or look it up on the internet for their wiring color code. Oh and it works great!

I ordered two of them for a project both 100 watts. One works great smooth as butter. The other has a couple of problems. A bad bearing right of the box. Not big deal they are cheap enough right here on amazon. They are a 628z if you want to be prepared. The biggest issue is the windings rubbed and scarred the inner drum. I made some clearance very gingerly with a stone. I'll see how that works out in the long run I guess. Another issue is I bought two both 100 watts and the good one has heavier counter weights than the other. That's a problem if your project requires similar vibe power out of two motors. All this would be ok if they allowed returns but sadly that's not an option on this one. Good luck. It looks like a 50/50 chance. Update May 9 2022. They both run for a few minutes everyday and still holding up after a year. I added a star for that even though I had to repair one.

I bought this to vibrate a tray with a mesh on the bottom so I could separate dirt from pea gravel to reduce weed growth. For that application, it vibrates well as long as you suspend the frame from ropes. If it is placed on top of a wheelbarrow, it makes a lot of noise and doesn’t work as well.
