  • Worked very well
Style: Heat Gun
I use this to Take down Christmas lights that I hot glue. Just make sure you get a big battery, the smaller 20 volts doesn't work as well with it / as long. But besides that, heat is very consistent, and gets hot

  • Very light, gets VERY hot
Style: Heat Gun
Will kill a fully charged 9AH battery at high in 30 minutes of constant use. That’s with it being in the locked ON position. I deal with a lot of icy valves. Melts ice pretty easily if you don’t have a torch handy.

  • Solid!
Style: Heat Gun
Works like you’d expect from a Dewalt! Light and easy to use. Does take a minute to get used to the safety pull switch but makes good sense! Our testing shows about 15 min use with a 5mh battery.

  • Great, but goes through batteries.
Style: Heat Gun
It should not be a surprise that it eats batteries like candy. 4ahr battery lasted....didn't time it, but maybe 10 to 15min of run time, on high. I needed a cordless heat gun to do use those watertight soldering splices while up on a ladder, 5 splices pretty much used up the battery on high. Worked great for that on high. Heats really fast, but you will need more than one battery. Also, the safety switch is annoying. Not sure the reason. Small lever on the switch has to be moved up, then depress the switch....makes it hard to switch between hands and keep it going. Reason for the docked star. ... show more

  • Very handy addition to 20V XR tool set
Style: Heat Gun
I was looking for a simple heat gun to use for simple heat shrink use. I already own a collection of 20V XR DeWalt batteries so this heat gun was a no brainer addition. Compared to my corded heat gun, this tool does not deliver the high heat (it is battery operated after all) output but it works just fine for its intended purpose. This tool is very effective for heat shrink purposes. I have also tried it with solder wire joint splice and there is sufficient heat to melt the solder and heat shrink the sleeve around it. This tool also makes it very easy to use a heat gun anywhere outside, or any remote location where access to AC power is problematic. You do need to keep in mind that since this is battery powered, your run time will be limited. ... show more

  • WORKD PERFECT!
Style: Heat Gun
Worked exactly as it should’ve! I even went the used route and it show up looking practically unused and new still in its original packaging. Worked really well and was useful for wrapping plastic on the windows for the winter. Also works really well for my wife’s epoxy projects! And I’m sure there will be much more helpful uses in the future! ... show more

  • Love Dewalt but this was a NO
Style: Heat Gun
I am a huge Dewalt fan and extremely loyal to the brand. So I was in the market for a heat gun, didn’t know Dewalt even made one. I decided to buy a wired cheap Chinese one from Amazon for $16… it was ok. It had 2 settings was very bulky for no frills and after a bit of use would start getting really hot. So I ventured to my Local HD and saw a display for the Wagner Fumo line. I bought the 300 and it was definitely better quality than the cheap Chinese one I had purchased, so I got it. This gun was good but after using it once, I wanted some more options than just a basic 1 and 2 setting. I returned it and got the Fumo 500, awesome model with lots of features and customization as far as settings. It’s well made but the wire was a bit annoying and in the way for what I used it for. So I got in Amazon and saw the Dewalt wireless heat gun, since I love Dewalt I ordered it. It’s an amazing quality build but so limited as far as power and settings. Just low and high settings, but neither settings gets anywhere near the level of even the basic Fumo 300. And it’s such a battery hog, I went thru 3 5aH Dewalt batteries just to almost finish 3 gift basket shrink wraps. I didn’t even get to finish before they were dead. So it’s unfortunate because I am such a Dewalt fan but this is going back today. 3 stars for their reputation, other quality products and for the effort resulting in the actual deal and look of the product being great…. But as far as function, RIP Dewalt wireless Heat Gun 🪦 ... show more

  • A "hot" little item!
Style: Heat Gun
Nutshell: this tool WORKS AS ADVERTISED, PERIOD! I did find that the "HIgh (2)" setting is best for processing heat shrink (yes, at the "expense" of battery life). I can't think of "profitable" uses for the "Low (1)" setting. With that typed, this tool is still VERY VALUABLE where you need "concentrated heat", but don't have AC power available for a corded heat gun. Note for "Jon S": yes, the "trigger lock" is designed for RIGHT-HANDED people. However, it ** CAN ** be used by "lefties" - activate and hold the trigger with the "tip" of the index finger, slide your left hand FORWARD so the "base knuckle" is over the lock button, then "squeeze" so the "knuckle" presses the "lock button". After that, re-adjust the hand so it "properly" holds the gun. Yes, it's not a "natural" action, but it works and, with practice, will become "second-nature" (at least, until/if DeWalt chooses to re-design the button for "ambidextrous" use ;) ). I ** DO INDEED ** recommend this tool for the "DeWalt 20V Universe" tool user... :) ... show more
