Style: W/ 30" Premium Fence

Features

  • 30-INCH PREMIUM FENCE ASSEMBLY: This aluminum fence assembly provides smooth operation and precise measurement.
  • SAWSTOP PATENTED SAFETY SYSTEM: Stops a spinning blade on contact with skin. The blade stops in less than 5 milliseconds, and drops below the table, minimizing a potentially life-altering injury to a mere scratch.
  • UNMATCHED QUALITY: The trunnion and arbor are built for precision, strength and stability. The gas piston elevation delivers smooth and easy adjustability. Table flatness is measured diagonally at 0. 010 maximum gap.
  • DUST COLLECTION: 99% dust collection is delivered above the table with the available dust collection blade guard (Model # TSG-DC, sold separately), and below the table with advanced shrouding around the blade. Available Overarm Dust Collection (Model # TSA-ODC, sold separately) routes dust away from the blade and into the 4 port.
  • RELIABILITY: The Control Box houses the on-off switch, power paddle, and on-board computer, and constantly checks that all systems are working to reliably keep you safe.

  • Great saw for a novice
Style: W/ 30" Premium Fence
I've had this saw for about 3 weeks and am using it to build beds for my 5yr old boys. The saw is amazingly well built. Set-up is only exceedingly straight forward and almost too easy. It is quiet and does pretty well with a shop vac as dust collector (except when cutting lots of 1/2 laps with your dado blade, then you'll wish you had a proper collector. I'm making difficult cuts, that I've never done before well after just a couple of attempts! Get a bigger table if you have the space - my small table allows for 30" cuts but I've already found myself wishing I had some more room to cut large pieces, but I don't have the space for it. It has serious instructions that cover every detail of the saw, including how to calibrate the blade angles/heights. And finally, as a novice who really loves the thought of eventually developing arthritis in all *10* of my fingers I really love the knowledge that I'll probably get to keep my fingers regardless of what happens. ... show more

  • Great saw, very happy with it.
Style: W/ 30" Premium Fence
There's no comparison to my previous contractor table saw. This thing purrs! It's quieter than many of the other tools in my shop. Absolutely recommend, and the safety is a great extra. The shipping company lost the fence, rails, and extension table. Amazon was pretty good to deal with and they gave me a hefty discount. I was able to order replacement parts direct from Sawstop (it's $180 + $50 shipping + tax for the PFA30). Amazon was able to reimburse the cost, or they offered to ship out a whole new saw + rails and I could just take the parts I need and return the rest. Amazon made a bad situation not so bad. Sawstop parts was also easy to work with, and they shipped out replacement parts same day. Update: Got the replacement 30" rail & fence direct from Sawstop and it assembled easily. Tuned it to within 3/1000th front-to-back (woodpecker saw gauge) and cut some plywood within the same tolerance. Adjusting the tape measure was easy within 4-5 test cuts. Visually lined up 4" and cut was 4.0035" - 4.0015". Very happy with it. ... show more

  • Incredable saw but I don't like being nickeled and dimed at every turn
Style: W/ 30" Premium Fence
This is an incredible saw and I would recommend it to anyone. Overall, great fit, finish and quality. Has more than enough power, I would compare it to an old 220v model I've used. I've owned a RIGID contractor saw for 12+ years and finally upgraded my shop to this model. So with such a glowing review why only four stars. Well here it goes: 1st) You pay a premium price for a Taiwan made tool. Sawstop used to be made in the USA and the Taiwan model shows some slight fit and finish issues, like bolts that wanted to cross-thread. I expected a USA made tool for the premium price I paid. 2nd) I was enticed to buy because of a rebate offer I noticed online. Beware, the 'rebate' isn't a rebate, rather SAWStop will send you a either a dust collection system or a mobile base after you buy your saw. I wanted a mobile base, but everyone I talked to said to get the mobile base and have it there when when you assemble the saw. This is good advice because the saw is very heavy. Sending me a mobile base after I've built the saw would make installation almost impossible. Now I get an overhead dust collection system I really didn't want and I have to buy an additional dust collection blade guard for $100+ to use it. 3rd) Bought the $100+ dust collection blade guard and it came with no instructions on assembly. Had to find the manual on-line to set it up right. 4th) Bought the dado insert and cartridge for use. When I opened the packaging there is a big warning sticker that says you shouldn't use full blade dado blade sets with the cartridge, instead SAWStop wants you to use a chipper blades. Well guess what kind of dado blade set I own? Yep one with full inserts, now do I have to spend another $100-200 buying a quality dado set. Shame on SAWStop for not telling me what kind of dado blades it recommends. Does this now mean I'm not safe with the full if I use my dado set I already own? I know I will be happy with this saw for the rest of my life. I just feel that I paid $2500 for a premium saw plus an additional $500 to get it set up right and I am still having to invest to get it up and running correctly. ... show more

  • Highest quality. Not just for safety
Style: W/ 30" Premium Fence
This saw is great. Granted I had a dewalt 744 before so not a fair comparison. The Sawstop is dead on out of the box. No adjustment required using a digital gauge. This beast is heavy. I would recommend getting the wheel assembly that mounts in the saw at the same time as the saw because it would be beyond a hassle after. I was worried about setting off the safety cartridge accidentally but no worries so far. I've cut 120yr old oak, teak, moist pecan, walnut, Purple Heart ,ect....all like butter. The knife and cartridge require no tools to remove. Makes things smooth to remove and replace if using a dado blade. I highly recommend this saw to anyone. I'm paralyzed from the chest down and have no problem operating. The safety features keep my mind at ease knowing I can't spare anymore limbs. Also recommend the Sawstop overtop dust collection ... show more

  • Great Saw
Style: W/ 30" Premium Fence
If you want the safety feature, than this is the saw to get, there are not competitors. Definitely stretch for the cabinet saw, as it's a better value than the Sawstop contractor saw. The quality is right up there with Powermatic, and others, even though they have a monopoly on the safety feature. I use an Incra fence, so this rating excludes the quality of the fence. It looks to be a quality fence, but I would get the better upgrade if I didn't already have one. Also, this saw can be wired to 220V, and upgraded to 3hp in the future. I use a Forrest thin kerf blade for all cuts, so 1.75 hp is plenty, but for full kerf blades, I would probably go with the 3hp. ... show more
