I Crimp with a tool then, soldering them and it makes for a much more professional look and assures a good lasting connection for high amp draws. I have tried, crimping the wire in them in a vise or hammer and they held either way but the best is to crimp. The kit has enough ends for many small projects, the heat shrink tubing is good and they are heavy enough to not be cheaply made. Surprisingly they did not discolor on soldering them on. All in all they work well. The wire fit inside of them pretty well but I would think a thicker wire of the rated gauge may be tight. The pic is not a great one but you get the idea.

I used these lugs to upgrade my camper to 2 100ah lfp batteries. Good quality copper lugs and the shrink tubing has some type of glue/waterproofing that seals the wire and lugs and provide protection. You do need some kind of proper lug heavy duty crimping tool. I used a hydraulic one. Everything looks professional.

These lugs are heavy duty for sure. I went with this seller because they were the cheapest. My wiring application is way over kill so I planned on setting for a middle of the road product. To my surprise these were exactly what they claimed to be. Once they were crimped I took a nail set with hammer and put a nice dimple just to make sure they wouldn’t slip off. As far as shrink wrap, that to was amazing, heat gun on high didn’t melt the tubing and the melted glue line was even on both ends. The kit I got was for 1/0 cable so having the shrink tubing was essential and performed well. I had forgot to put some shrink tube on a 4 gauge wire with a ring and it’s designated tubing would not fit over the crimped ring so I used one of the 1/0 wire shrink tubes and it shrank down 4 sizes without any deformation or bubbles. Way cool. This is one of those products that I second guessed myself after purchasing but turned out to exceed my expectation’s, next time I need pure copper lugs I’ll be back for sure
