I’ve been using traditional glass mason jars for salad layering, but this product completely changed the experience for me. Unlike glass, this jar is made from PP plastic (as listed on my unit), making it incredibly lightweight and easy to carry. I no longer need to handle it as delicately as I would handle glass, which makes it perfect for on-the-go use. What really impressed me is how it solves the classic mason jar salad problem. With a normal mason jar, I’d layer ingredients from the bottom up, but when pouring dressing from the top, it would pool on the upper layers. Plus, I always had to eat from the top layer down, making it hard to mix things up. This jar changes that entirely. The side hatch lets me access any layer directly, so I can evenly spread dressing across all layers and enjoy any portion of the salad without disturbing the whole thing. I especially love the built-in top container where I can keep toppings like crispy onions or chips. The hatch is secured with a latch, which can pop off if I open it too forcefully, but I actually appreciate this design because it’s less likely to break—if it pops off, it snaps back on easily. Plus, mine came with two spare latches, which is a thoughtful touch. On the downside, I noticed some molding seams on the body and a bit of a burr on the inside cup. These were cosmetic and didn’t affect how it worked. At first, I thought the price was high for plastic, but after using it, I believe the convenience is worth it. In the end, although I wish I could give it five stars, I’ll settle at four due to the minor finishing details and an occasionally finicky outer lid. Still, if you love salads and want to simplify your routine, this is a game changer!

Just what I needed for lunch on the go. This side opening jar is great for easy access. The seal hasn't leaked at all. I really like the extra little cup inside the lid. While it is designed for separating salad dressing until ready to use, it can also be used to hold sliced olives or sliced tomatoes separate from the salad greens to prevent wilting. Excellent quality construction and easy to clean.

The image accurately represent the product. I’ve been using this container for work lunches and it has held up well so far. The vertical design makes it easy to layer ingredients without mixing everything together. I like that the dressing container is built in, which keeps salads from getting soggy.
