  • Purchased for friend, read on for his impressions...
Platform For Display: PC Edition: Standard
I purchased this game for a friend, so it's not fair for me to review it, but I have asked him to provide me with a detailed review and giving him credit for the review (He is Professormilesnh on twitch): I have been playing video games on many different formats since 1990 and have seen the evolution of video games and their many different genres. At first, I was a bit worried that Titan Fall 2 would fall flat like Black Ops 3, Advance Warfare, and what I saw of Infinite Warfare. Oh how I was wrong. The advance movement system is far better than what any of the COD games tried to do, which isn’t too surprising considering Titan Fall 1 started this trend. It’s never too much and you can approach a battle slowly if you want, but the real fun is balancing methodical movement with Wall Running, double jumping (thanks to the player’s boost pack), and sliding. It all comes off very organic. Also, you can choose to equip a grappling hook in multiplayer and is quite handy. It can be used to latch onto a wall to complete that gap, grab a player, or even pull yourself onto enemy Titans and even with all that it is never too much or gimmicky. It feels realistic and balanced. The Titans had me worried that the game would become like Arkham Knight with its tank segments. This does not happen at all. The Titans feel right and aren’t invincible and can be taken down by a skilled pilot (removing the enemy Titan’s power cell is oh so satisfying). The Titans have access to different load outs so you are never stuck with the same old boring Titan. The Campaign is worth whatever price you pay for the game. It may only be 5 hours as of this review but it is amazing. It is a true narrative that makes you feel connected to both your character Jack Cooper and his Titan BT-7274. The levels in the campaign are diverse and feel natural. The sections that you can wall run or climb don’t seem out of place with its surroundings. Everything is climbable and traversable, though some areas are harder than others. The wild life will attack both you and the enemy AIs. It honestly reminded me of playing Metroid Prime, which is a good thing as that is one of the best Metroid games ever created. The multiplayer is of course where the true longevity lies. The game doesn’t disappoint. I originally heard that multiplayer would have a mix of AI NPCs and Players similar to the original Battlefront 1 and 2. While this isn’t horrible, I still was a bit anxious over it. Only one mode seems to have this. There is a mode that has no Titans, one that is only Titans, and plenty in between. I have only started the multiplayer aspect, but look forward to MANY sessions with it. With all that, you would think there was no more praise I could give this game…guess what, I got one more tidbit to mention. All DLC is free. There is no season pass, no DLC that will cost you $14.99 more or less. New campaign missions or multiplayer maps or modes will be available to everyone for free. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Awesome campaign. Fantastic controls and movement. Multiplayer experience subjective in 2020
Platform For Display: PC Download Edition: Standard
This game is getting a little older now, but I would still recommend you get it if you can find it for the $5 deal that happens occasionally. The multiplayer used to be awesome, and was used as the model for Apex Legends. The last few times I tried playing, I could not compete with the skill level of some of the people still playing it. That being said, the controls are spot on; the game feels good to play, whether with a controller or with M+K. The campaign was also really good. Not very long, but you will be entertained! I highly recommend picking this up for at least the campaign, which was surprisingly good, even in 2020. ... show more

  • Incredibly fast paced, but fun and challenging.
Platform For Display: PC Edition: Standard
This is probably my favorite game that I have played. The storyline, while short, is amazing storytelling, and makes you really love BT. The multiplayer is fast paced and extremely fun to play, as titans with masterful drivers can change the course of the battle. Camping is discouraged, as it is everything moves so fast. All guns can be bought with credits earned in game, or unlocked by levelling your pilot. Although SMGs are encouraged to use as they can kill faster, all the weapons in game are fun to use. Weapons like the Kraber, a 1 shot sniper, is incredibly hard to master, but when you do every kill is incredibly satisfying. At only $30, this is a steal, as all dlc is free, and the only purchases available are for skins. I highly recommend this game to anyone who is into shooters, and a fun single player campaign(albeit a short one). ... show more

  • Easy to get stuck in this game.
Platform For Display: PC Edition: Standard
This is the most frustrating game I have ever played. You can try doing something 100 times without success (for this game the leaping is so tricky). In the past when that happened to me on a game I found out how to use cheats so I could get through something too difficult for me to do but you can't do it on this game. Passing the age of 60 makes doing these games so much harder and even though I chose the Easy level it still is impossible. Last time I will buy a game from Origin and I am not going to finish this game. ... show more

  • Fantastic game with a great single player campaign! Multiplayer is fun and challenging, but could use some improvements.
Platform For Display: PC Edition: Standard
The single player campaign is fantastic in this new version of Titanfall. I really enjoyed the story and couldn't resist coming back to it until I had it beat. Graphics are great, gameplay is fun, you won't regret getting it! There are multiple in-game purchases for additional titans, paint kits, etc. Multiplayer game play has lots of progression by leveling your character, weapons, titans, earning banners and other such items via achievements. The only thing I think could use some refining is the way the multiplayer game sessions are chosen - it seems a bit slow at times taking a few minutes to get into a game. Also the "happy hour" bonuses only start very late at night so they're hard to take advantage of except on weekends. Overall a very good game! ... show more

  • Great game and story
Platform For Display: PC Download Edition: Standard
This was a very good game to play, especially at the price. $3 for this game almost made it feel like a steal and if I knew how it would be I’d happily pay more. The story is captivating and the game has a lot of fun movements and weapons that separates it from most. It’s a bit hard to get into the game with other players but after a bit it’ll be fun and rewarding. If you are seriously looking into this game, I recommend looking at guides just to advance faster. Overall this is a very good game and I’d highly recommend it ... show more
