    • Worked very well until it bent.
I had no trouble assembling and the unit looked like it was ok quality but the drive shaft came defective. After a short delay, the seller sent a new shaft and it arrived in about 1 week. With the new shaft installed, I drilled three holes in hard clay. Using my Kubota L2900 , the digger worked well and did not struggle. Each hole took only about 5 minutes where digging by hand would take hours. Even a rented Toro Dingo struggled in this clay. The way mine is set up, the auger does not hang straight so it must be positioned each time before drilling. I used a rake to position it while working the controls, lowering it to maintain the position and then engaging the PTO. I assume the gear case is shipped empty because the oil would leak out of the vented cap while being shipped, don't miss the part about filling it with oil. Update: on the 5th hole, i hit a rock and the auger got stuck. since my PTO has no reverse, i had to dig it out by hand. When i finally got it out i realized that the curved shaft that holds the auger had bent so the auger was now at a 20-30 degree angle and would not drill straight. I guess the reviews that warned of cheap steal and light duty were correct. I hope a replacement part is available or I can bend it back. If so, I will weld some reinforcing plates on there to prevent this. I don't know why the shear pin did not break before the unit was damaged. ... show more

    • Quite good.
Arrived promptly and was easy to assemble (although a clearer picture in the "instructional" packet would have been nice). So far I have used it once and the piece handled the tough northern CA ground without complaint, decent sized rocks and roots cast aside like potting soil. Points of interest: 1) Manufacturer claims it only preforms down to 2 feet. This is utterly false, set your 3 point as low as it goes and you can rip down to just shy of 4 feet. 2) The Auger only has teeth or threading or whatever it is called on the first two feet (my one true complaint), so one will have to keep raising and lowering to pull out loose dirt when going this deep. 3) It can get a decent shake to it if hitting debris due to the relative light weight of the unit, so anticipate a significantly wider hole than the width of the auger when this happens. 3) Disassembly/removal from tractor pretty much requires two people, it can get quite unwieldy unless you manufacture a stand, which I plan to do. I plan on using this thing quite a bit and putting it through the gauntlet so to speak, and I will update this if it fails. So far it is great. ... show more

This thing works great. It fit right on to my New Holland 1721 with about a 45 minute assembly. The auger was included as promised. It was delivered securely attached to a pallet and metal rack. It drills a 12 inch wide hole up to 4' deep in no time. We have some rocks deep, up to about the size of a loaf of bread, and it does handle them without a problem. My kids and I had been struggling through an area where the tractor couldn't go previously and it took us an average of an hour per hole there. We've gotten out to clear ground and now a hole takes about 10 minutes with final clam-shell work. Worth every penny. See the photos. ... show more

well i have not had a chamce to use it outside just yet. i am not to sure about it at this time as it appears to be made from cheap metal. the whole thing showed up packaged very poorly and was incredibly dirty. it really looked used. i will update this after i have dug a few holes. also this unit comes with no instructions so you just have to figure it out. ... show more
