Overlooked the fact that this is a stretchy band. Even with the elastic style recoil, I still needed to bring to a jeweler to take out a few notches. After resizing, it now fits comfortably and I appreciate not having to mess with a clasp each time I put it on and take it off. It is a simple and tasteful Swiss watch by Timex. I wanted something clean that I could wear casually or formally dressed that would match my gold wedding band. The two tone looks nice and classy while the light face is clearly legible. The gold-toned numbers make the watch feel a little more upscale. For the price point, I won't be precious about it, but I can still feel good about having a nice timepiece to grab when I want to feel a bit more dressed up. There's something satisfying about looking at the the easily legible light dial, with the gold tone numbers. First of all, the shipment was really quick, and the package was completely fine - no scratches, both boxes inside and outside were untouched. The watch itself was absolutely as described and in the picture, everything perfect! I believe that things can tell about their owner, and for this great price you get a watch that looks simple yet serious and high quality. I used to have another Timex which I lost about a year ago. Now I have one again, and with all the new devices of today, it is nice to have something which runs on a battery for a loooong time! As far as features, the numbers on the face and teh hands are easily readable, and the famous INDIGLO makes sure that happens in all conditions. The crown is designed in such a way that the notches which make it easy to turn still make it look completely smooth. The bracelet is long enough for people with larger wrists, but can be adjusted even on your own, which I did at home without special equipment in about 40 minutes after looking at some instructions. The size of the watch itself is just a bit smaller than what you find in "standard" men's watches, but still works fine for me. The face is covered with very nice mineral glass which will resist scratching from most things you may encounter at home or at work. As far as disadvantages, if you are concerned about the bracelet catching your hair, its true, but only when you take it on or off, and doesn't bother me, even though I am of a "more hairy" kind of guy. Also, in the picture, the watch piece looked somewhat thick, but now that I have it on my nand, it doesn't look that day. Otherwise, there is nothing else to mention really. It is a nice watch which will do what it's supposed to for many years if it doesn't accidentally get damaged by something serious. First things first: this thing will do it's best to make your wrist hairless as a porpoise. It's a metal expandable band, and it will pluck every hair out of your arm while you wear it. It fits my wrist without even stretching, so it's not like it's even squeezing my wrist or anything. It's a pretty decent watch, but it does feel kind of cheap. You get what you pay for, so I'm not going to rag on it too hard about that. But the light in it also doesn't fully work on mine, a portion of it doesn't light up. So the quality control leaves a little to be desired as well. Overall it's a nice looking beater watch that will get the job done, but I do find myself wearing it less often than my other watches because it plucks my arm hairs like nobody's business. ... show more

I bought this Timex Men's South Street Sport Watch to replace one of the same I have been using for several years. I had no problems with the old one, and it was working fine, but I did not realize that replacing the battery in this model Timex is no longer a user possible thing. Without the correct tool, it is virtually impossible to get the back onto the watch correctly without doing damage. (I don't like that, but at the price for the quality, I'll put up with it.) Originally I had ordered an Easy Reader model that had only a date window (no day window), and that I had to return since I could not get the crown to come out the proper distance to adjust the date without stopping the watch, and the self-adjustable band had a problem with hanging slightly open and snagging. It was only later that I found this one which was exactly what I was replacing and liked (and works very well). The description says it has an extended band, and counting the links it is 3 links longer than the one I had before, but it still fits my average to smaller wrist in an acceptable way. If I can figure out a way to remove 1 or 2 links from the band without damaging it I will do that. But it is ok as it is. The face is somewhat lighter in color than the one I had, and that along with slightly wider hands makes it much easier to read in the dark using the Indiglo light feature (which is one of the main reasons I insist on staying with Timex, along with the ultra reliable accuracy). I have used Seiko and Bulova watches I received as awards which cost more than 10 times the price of this model Timex, and for my purposes almost any Timex out-performs those. ... show more
