  • A slick little bag - useless water bottle holders
I got this for a bike commute. It is tight, but I didn't want a big bulky bag. It fits a 15" MacBook Pro no problem. Why Timbuk2 doesn't advertise this, who knows? I can get my various chargers and gadgets, phone, wallet, keys, a change of clothes, and shoes in here, but it is snug. It feels rain resistant, and the rainfly is great peace of mind. Some complain about the magnetic clasps. They're not perfect, but I don't think they're that difficult, or a deal breaker. I would not flip the bag upside down and shake it. I find them easy to clasp. The water bottle holders are next to useless, though, especially if you pack it full. It's a shame, it strikes me they could have used a slightly different material, and it would be fine. But, would buy again! *** EDIT - ANOTHER COMMENT ON WATER BOTTLE HOLDERS *** The material near the water bottle holders is the least water resistant on the whole bag. I had a leaky bottle that soaked the interior of the bag - and worse, the interior laptop pocket is not waterproof, so the leaky bottle soaked that pocket. Luckily, no damage was done. Still like the bag, but has flaws. ... show more

  • Great daily backpack
I'm not a biker, but I bought this backpack anyways and I'm so glad I did! I was torn between the Robin Pack and the Robin Pack Light, and I'm glad I went with the slightly bigger one -- the Robin Pack is already a bit light on the pockets, and the Robin Pack Light wouldn't have had enough storage! As is, the bottom, zippered pocket (the reflective one) is quite small -- I fit a reusable grocery bag in there and not much else. The middle pocket is awesome -- it magnetically closes and remains quite secure. The large pocket fits my Macbook Pro (13") comfortably, and has plenty of space for the rest of my stuff, but it does NOT have any additional pockets inside, so it all floats around in there. Not a problem for me, but something to note. That larger pocket closes with two magnetic "hooks," which I've found easy enough to use, though some other reviewers have complained about them. Then the rain fly is tucked in a tiny pouch at the very bottom of the bag, accessible from the outside. The bag rests comfortably and securely on my shoulders -- I have back pain, and it barely bothers my back! LOVED this purchase, I'm so glad I splurged and went for it! I wasn't sure if an expensive backpack would be worth it, but it's made a huge difference. ... show more

  • Completely Useless Top Flap
Color: Jet Black
Good bag, but the top flap is useless. If you have it packed FULL of puffy sweaters there may be enough pressure against the top to keep the magnets attached, as long as you don't do any sort of movement that would twist or bend the bag whatsoever, like resting it gently on your slightly uneven front car seat. If you need things to stay IN your bag, this one is not for you. If you need a functional top flap, this one is not for you. If you want to spend less than a full minute getting the horribly designed magnets to line up JUST right to get it to close only to pop itself open a couple minutes later when it twists ever so slightly, this is not the bag for you. Otherwise, it's quite good. I love that it has TWO bottle holders (that can hold 2x 24 oz bottles, or even 32 ounce if they are shaped right). I cannot ever imagine why most bags will only now give you one bottle holder. Is it so expensive to sew an extra flap of fabric on both sides of a bag? I drink a lot of water and I also want the bag to be evenly balanced. Honestly for me that's the only reason I still use this bag. There's no question in my mind the next model of this bag will have a better top flap system. There is no possible way the person who designed the top flap has not already been fired from the company for letting something like this make it into production, and I am certain Timbuk2 knows how bad the flap is. It could be a great bag otherwise, but wait for the next release before spending this much on a bag. ... show more

  • Perfect addition to my 20" TimBuck2 Carry on
It's great not having zippers to fiddle with when I need something right away. The design and sleek look is what drew me to this. It fits my 15" MacBook Pro perfectly along with other small peripherals. Travels well as a carry-on or personal item for all airlines. I took a star off because there are some aspects that annoy me: there's a hidden pouch that houses a water proof sleeve for stormy weather, which is bulky and takes valuable space. Secondly, at full capacity, it looks like I'm wearing a red sausage on my back. I've seen another cool hipster wear the black version which looks just as cool/sleek. I'd recommend this backpack to urbanites in gloomy weather. ... show more

  • Sturdy and sleek
Color: Jet Black
Bag is very well made. Sturdy and sleek. Can hold 2 water bottles but it looks odd so only using one for now. This is a great daily bag. Originally ordered with the intention of using as a gym bag but not big enough. Good for a laptop and notebooks, tablet, or smaller flat items you may need to carry. Love this bag using it tomorrow and packing my wallet, spare key, water bottle, portable phone charger, headphones, chapstick, hand lotion, and all fit fine with room to spare. Also ordered the Bruce pack to use for gym, as the robin is not large enough to hold sneakers, change of clothes, dopp kitt, foam roller, etc. All in all great bag, smaller than expected. Great for daily use as it is durable and sturdy. ... show more

  • The bag is perfect for general
Color: Jet Black
This bag is deceptively clever in its design. At first glance, the inside of the bag felt extremely small. And, initially, I couldn't find the laptop pouch and was bummed out. I had to give the bag "a moment" and my frustration a "time out". Then I found it. Score. In addition to laptop storage, the main compartment is large enough to hold gym sneakers, a towel, pair of shorts and jersey with a wee bit more room to spare. The bag is perfect for general, everyday tasks such as gym and computer stuff. ... show more

  • Great product and company
I've been using this pack for a few weeks now and it seems to be very well constructed. I will say that if you are planning on carrying more than a few spirals and a laptop that it will be a tight fit but it isn't meant to be a giant backpack and that is one of the things I enjoy about it. 10/10 would purchase again. ... show more
