Worked great, usually have it as a key ring but couldn’t find anything better for my situation, i had used it doing some redneck bodywork on my silverado and the clip withstood probably close to 1,000lbs of pulling force no problem. Hooked a rig up to the tailgate cable bolt to pull a dent out and it bent the bolt before any damage to the clip. After this all that had happened to the clip was just some small scratches. Its still aligned perfectly. Very surprised that it actually held up to that. Im sure it could have withstood more force. This is definitely heavy duty. Large and not flimsy. Has some weight to it. Locking mechanism is perfect, not something that’ll open up on it’s own. Bought a few for my pup. Large German Shepard puppy that’s only gonna get bigger. As a secondary clip in case the one that comes attached to tether snaps. I don’t climb, so I don’t know how these will do for that. I've gone through like a million, "not for climbing," carabiners in my life an got sick of them breaking or not closing right and loosing a key an getting a new one for like a buck every few months so I thought I'd go for something locking an a bit more hardcore. This is a bit bigger but pretty much exactly what I wanted an needed. Is it good for climbing? Who knows. A quick Google search showed me good climbing ones run 20-50 bucks each it looks like so maybe if you're trusting a small bit of metal with your life think about spending a bit more or looking up the most trusted brands people use an not buying a cheap one on Amazon. Seems logical to me but what do I know? You do you. 2 or 3 years later these are still locking good an barely have a scratch. If you need a Keychain that holds shit for a hot minute I'm digging this so far. I'm a cat with a ton of keys between my car, scooter, motorcycles, job etc. Constantly breaking a few off to use em an put em back on. Locking mech never failed. Already lasted longer than any other cheap counter part. Would I use for climbing? Idk. If you're like me with 20 keys an sick of your carabiner breaking after a few months. Considering that these are made for climbing, I expected the locks to be safe and sturdy.. Therefore if they work for climbing is say value is extremely good for the price. Since I don't climb, I wanted very sturdy hooks for hanging my heavy punching bag. The lock is amazing. Got to work a little to get the lock open but it's still possible with one hand. Have to turn and push latch. If you let go, the latch locks again. Saving your life or grabbing whatever you are hooking. That said, I've got a 80lb bag hanging from a spring that holds 250lbs. I'm 200lbs and hung from the bag. The 250lb spring barely moved and the hook didn't move. So I guess it works. It's been up for a week. The test will be many hours of hitting from the kids over months. ... show more

The locking mechanism is a swivel instead of a screw which means they won't gradually become unlocked with vibrations or normal use like some of the screw types will do. And they automatically lock when closing so you don't have to manually lock them in the closed position. **additional review** I already submitted a review for these after purchasing them last month. I liked them so much, after using them for just a couple weeks that I purchased 2 more. When I came in to write another review, my 1st review was already filled in the review form, so I assume I'm just editing and the review will show up twice, maybe? I don't use these for climbing, but rather to hold various tools in a hazardous environment where a non-locking biner may inadvertently clip onto something that may cause an entanglement issue. These remain secure while using them, and are easily cleaned if any debris gunks them up. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. ... show more

I was pretty amazed at the size when I got these. They are bigger than your typically carabiner, but look fantastic. I still use them for my keys and you can barely use 1” key rings with them. I prefer these as they do have practical use in emergency situations. The locking feature is different than what I’m used to but after 1 day I’m already getting the hang of it (no pun intended). I’m hoping the paint holds on for a long time as I’m sure that’ll be the first thing to break down. ... show more
