For accuracy sake, I posted the sizes of the actual belts, along with a measuring tape for the small and the medium. These belts are lovely and with the Amazon prime prices, they would be a great purchase. So, depending on how high or low you wear your pants and your belt needs, I hope this post helps. The media could not be loaded. I highly recommend as long as you can get the right fit. Thanks to other reviewers that commented on sizing up. Arrived on time, well packaged, nice leather, excellent quality (having only worn once I can’t attest to durability but I expect it to last for years). It’s a little stiff but that’s fine. The color is slightly reddish brown. SIZE UP - Size 10 get L - if you are 12 to 14, get XL, Lack of size chart combined with relatively small length of belt deducted 1 star. I am generally jeans size 12, occasionally 10 (Size Large belt pictured w size 10 Lee jeans sitting slightly below natural waist). The 1st useable hole is 37.5”. That’s fine for high rise or natural waist, but barely works for jeans that sit below waist. The entire belt is punched which I like for looks, wear and flexibility, also lends to sizing up. I am keeping because it’s a great quality belt from a reputable maker at a fantastic Amazon price. And XL might be larger than I’d like. I wasn’t sure what would happen when I ordered this. I used the sizing instructions here and I would have been a Medium if I wanted a belt similar to my 34-36 belt. But I read reviews it ran small, so I ordered the Large. Here’s the deal - I measured it and the Large has an absolute max of 36”. I like to wear my jeans around my hips, which means I am not buying my true waist size but something larger to allow for that. I can live with this and it will be nice if I ever want to pair it with something at my true waist as the smallest hole is at 30”. So there you go, the actual measurements of the Large belt is not 36-40, it’s 30-36. Please purchase accordingly. Otherwise, it’s great to find a genuine leather belt rather than all the plastic. ... show more

I should wear a small, I ordered a medium which is what I always use anyway. This cannot be a womens medium. Maybe a medium in child's size. I like that it is leather and the buckle is perfect. Recommend it overall, just size up, maybe two up is all. Those that say it's not real leather, it is real leather. It will shed and shred like pleather. Wear and tear will do it, it takes longer. I was very disappointed with the purchase. The quality is not what I expected from Timberland. Material seems cheap even though it says 100% genuine leather. I ordered brown, but the actually color is a little more orange than I expected. The flower imprint is also darker in person than the website depicts.
