I have been wearing these for a month outdoors on rainy days and the days after rainy days with a Birkenstock insole, and there was almost no break-in period— soft, cushioned, and comfortable from the start. My Redwing Tread lite moccasin work boots going on year 3 soon are comfortable and keep out the dampness, but I can feel the cold seeping through the stitching at the toes when it rains or is extremely cold, even with wool socks. The shoes arrived today with some damage, and maybe even used. It’s too late in the day for me to buy a replacement and since I need them for work tomorrow I can’t return them. Chips on the sole, scuffs and creases on the boot, and black tar or gum on the left heel. Very disappointing.

Look great, and came in great condition. I normally wear a size 16 to 16 1/2 in most shoes, but in Timberlands I can get away with a 15 for some reason. Now it could have been the hardened toe box that made these feel too small, or it could be that these boots don't fit the "order 1/2 to 1 size smaller than normal" convention.
