Our PowerWelt steel safety-toe boots use reinforced waterproof leather for extra durability in rugged work conditions. Additional job site performance features include a steel shank for extra protection and structural support, electrical hazard protection, and our Anti-Fatigue Technology polyurethane footbed for shock absorption and energy return. Their breathable, moisture- wicking lining is made of ReBOTL material containing at least 50% recycled plastic. Plus, their rugged outsole of heat-, oil-, slip-, and abrasion- resistant, non-marking polyurethane features a Ladder Lock heel that grips ladder rungs. The Pit Boss is everything a work boot should be: safe, tough, and comfortable. First off, a roomier toe box means no foot pain even after long days on your feet. It's also got an unsurpassed traction-grip for working on wet or slippery surfaces, and electrical hazard protection to keep you safe from open circuits. On the comfort front, a removable insole proves blisters don't have to go hand-in-hand with hard work.

In light of the negative reviews about ‘not holding up long’ and ‘not being water resistant’ – I have had my boots for 6 months and they look better than when I first took them out of the box. I wore them throughout the all-day Land Rover Kentucky Cross Country Horse Event. It rained or drizzled throughout but these boots kept my socks and feet warm and dry. I wore these going through wet caves, walking across acres of wet grass, and going through mountain forests after it rained and never had any problem with any dampness. As for holding up: I live in a mountainous area with 10 acres of uneven terrain and need boots with good ankle support, so I wear these any time I go out. I have never had a pair of boots with better ankle support, that have been more comfortable, or held up nearly as well as these. THE KEY IS HARD WAX SHOE POLISH. The boots have ‘rough leather’ in the toes and the rest look like genuine shiny leather. Rough leather is far more susceptible to getting torn up. Hard wax shoe polish is mainly clay and carnauba wax, where the clay fills in and coats the leather – the wax moisturizes the inner leather to keep it soft and supple and protects it from getting damaged by making a rock-hard outer shell. I have dug up hundreds of heavy rocks in the fields, gone through forest to chainsaw and trim trees, and done all kinds of activities that would tear boots up but have only scuffed the polished layer and never done any damage to the leather or boot. Once the boots have that shiny outer shell it only takes a few minutes to fill in the scuff marks and have them looking brand new. Great quality boots. Very comfortable, very supportive. Great arch support too, which saves me from having to get separate insoles. When I first tried them on the toe box felt a bit stiff in ways that would rub into my foot when I moved just right. A bit of leather conditioner fixed that immediately. I normally wear a 9.5 wide shoe, but the 9.5 medium in these is just right. I got these for DIY stuff around the house and yardwork, and I expect them to serve me well. I do wish these were full grain leather instead of nubuck, but it's not a deal breaker. But hey - Timberland - I know you're going for sustainable and earth friendly and all of that, but for goodness sake use a box that's actually big enough for the boots! The boots were so crowded in there that the right toe box had a giant dent that dug into me horribly. I spent nearly an hour trying to push it back out and I convinced myself that a bit of leather treatment would take care of the rest. Thankfully I was right, but there really is no excuse for such a packaging failure on what is an otherwise fantastic boot. If I had been wrong about the leather treatment I would have had unusable boots that couldn't be returned. I love the boots, so please fix the box. ... show more

Fit is great. Boots are definitely used and scuffed along top & toe. Obviously work boots are going to take a beating, but they were bought as new. I will update my review in the coming weeks and months.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but these boots deserve one. I highly recommend getting the anti fatigue insoles with them. I’m picky with my boots and normally all I wear is caterpillar 2nd shift boots but I decided to give these a try. They are very stiff at first especially around the ankles to the point I didn’t know if these boots were for me. If you get them stick it out for the first week of break in period. You won’t regret it! After a week with these and the anti fatigue insoles these are the most comfortable and supportive boots I’ve had. Looking forward to seeing how long they last and I will be getting another pair. Just my 2 cents! ... show more

I was concerned about ordering footwear online. I have two pair of Timberland oxfords, size 12, that I wear everywhere -- one pair is for everyday wear, the other pair is worn to church and similar occasions. Based on my experience with the oxfords, I ordered a pair of these boots, size 12 same as the oxfords. The boots arrived a few days ago and I have been wearing them 6-10 hours a day while working in the lawn and doing some woodwork. VERY PLEASED WITH THEM. A little stiff as I expected new boots to be.
