  • Amazing! Makes moving logs simple and comfortable!!
The media could not be loaded. The media could not be loaded. The media could not be loaded. I bought 2 of these 2 years ago. I would never move logs without these things. They pick up logs so easily. The weight of the log makes the teeth dig right in. They will stay securely connected if you want to put them down for a minute. They also release very easily by just pushing down when the weight is off of the tongs. Like others said, buying 2 just makes sense. Both tongs can be used on larger logs or one log in each tong which gives better balance. It truly is a one hand operation, so using one in each hand is simple. These tongs also save your back because you don't have to bend down very far to grab the logs. These are also great quality. I lost one of mine in the snow and found it in the spring when the snow thawed. It didn't have any rust and worked perfectly. ... show more

  • Worked well
Worked very well for my application for my splitter

  • Great value, but stinky handles
These tongs are great and can pick up a wide range of log diameters--helps save the back and make quick work of moving blocked logs (2 at a time instead of 1, if you have 2 tongs). You may need to oil or adjust the pins for maximum speed convenience because they may arrive with a slight tendency to catch. However, the worst feature is the plastic handle that arrives with a putrid burnt-plastic smell that is difficult to banish and will leech on to anything that touches it; Still haven't figured out how to get rid of it--hopefully baking in the sun will be enough. ... show more

  • Timber Tuff Tongs - great for moving large timbers by hand
I bought these originally for moving firewood. Well, I had a building project that came up before then. We needed to move some 20 foot long treated 6x6 timbers-- (4) of them. They are really heavy. We wrestled the first one by hand. It was a chore. Then after that, I thot there had to be a better way. I remembered I had (2) of these brand new in the box for wood cutting this fall. These WILL scratch up your wood a little bit, but it is well worth it! Use at your own risk. Once you get a "bite" into the timber and hold tite, these tongs are amazing how well they work. It took an absolutely miserable job of setting large timbers to slightly less than miserable. Still hard work. Heavy duty construction. I think I paid about $20 each for these. Worth every penny on this last job. I haven't used them in the woods yet, but I think they will be fantastic. If I have any negative experience, I will report back here. ... show more

  • Really neat tool
Wow, I can't believe these little things. They sure save time and make it quite a bit easier lifting stuff off the ground. I little flick and the log pops right off. Great for picking up chunks out of the snow. I use one for just grabbing short ones to throw them into the box or I use both to pick one up and place it on a pile or onto the splitter. I recommend you buy two. It comes in handy and is always good to have a spare in case the neighbor comes over for a beer. I was looking for something that didn't require two people and here it is. Great product. Saves hands and gloves. The grips are perfect and over all great design. ... show more

  • Nice tool but
This is a sturdy well constructed tool that's a real back saver I would have given it 5 stars but the green handle pulled off after 15 minutes of use.

  • Simple and effective. A perfect device for lifting logs
I only wish I had invented this. It is nothing more than a fancy ice tong with an offset handle. But, it is an awesome device. It makes lifting and carrying logs/wood/timber a breeze. The handle is offset to take the strain off the wrist. And, it is simple to use. So, if you're moving logs, carrying firewood, or just picking up and object that is bulky, this is perfect. Well made, sturdy and a good price. ... show more

  • Beware: grip can come off and drop a log on your foot
These tongs are good for picking up logs without having to bend but the handle has a major design issue. First the good. These easily clamp around logs up to around 12” in diameter and allow you to pick them up without having to bend over and try to get a hand hold. However this product has a serious flaw. The handle grip, made out of some sort of grippy rubber like substance, does NOT stay on. The grip is attached to the tool with a friction fit on a smooth metal bar inside of the handle. The problem is that it doesn’t stay on. When you go to pick up or drag a log, you’ve got a pretty good chance of the green grip slipping off and the log dropping to the ground and hopefully not on your leg or foot. I am going to try to reattach the grip with epoxy but I am not confident that this will work because of the amount of stress that will be placed in the glue joint combined with the face that the metal is smooth. This product needs to be redesigned to have some sort of mechanical attachment to ensure that the grip cannot slip off. As is, the only way you can keep the handle on is to hold the log keeping the handle pointed upwards, which is quite difficult with larger pieces of wood. I would not recommend this product at all. ... show more
