  • Great set of brushes for home projects Great set of brushes for home projects
I thought I was ordering one paint brush, so I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and saw four paint brushes and a putty knife included! The brushes come in four different sizes: 1, 1.5, 2, and 2.5 inches, so you have a brush for broader strokes as well as more detail oriented work. I didn't have to purchase any extra brushes when refinishing my basement. So far, I have used these brushes to paint my basement, paint cabinets, and stain a bookcase. They have held up well through all of it and are really only showing minimal signs of wear. They seem to be extremely well made. The handles are wood, and I believe the bristles are nylon. Each of the brushes has been firm but still flexible enough, so you're able to cover the area you need to with an even brush stroke. These brushes are also easy to clean and maintain their shape well, so they're able to be used for multiple projects. I'd highly recommend this brush set. They are quality brushes and an excellent value for the price. ... show more

  • For that DIY journey For that DIY journey
The universe (or a very confused warehouse robot) decided to bless my DIY journey. I ordered a single brush and ended up with a full-blown "I’m definitely painting the spare bedroom this weekend" starter kit. I scored 4 brushes total and a bonus scaper. The Good: -Quantity Over Everything: I technically scored a 5-for-1 deal. Even if these aren't heirloom quality, having four brushes means you can be lazy and "forget" to wash one without ruining your whole day. -Versatility: These aren't just duplicates; you’ve got a range of sizes from 1" up to 2.5". Whether you're doing fine trim work or aggressively slapping varnish on a fence, you're covered. -The Bonus Scraper: That scraper wasn't even invited to the party, but it's arguably the most useful thing there for removing the "oopsies" from your previous paint jobs. -Angled Tips: These have that 1.5-inch angled tip (and others), which is basically training wheels for cutting in straight lines. It makes you look like you actually know what you're doing. The Less Good: -Shedding Season: These look like standard synthetic bristles. Expect to spend a decent amount of time picking "stray hairs" out of your wet paint like you're grooming a golden retriever. -One brush has a very short handle -The "Eco" Handles: Those wooden handles are thirsty. If you don't seal them or keep them dry, they'll soak up water, swell, and eventually feel like you're holding a damp baguette. -The Scraper’s Mystery Metal: That scraper looks ready to work, but if it’s not kept bone-dry, it’ll likely develop a "vintage" rust patina faster than you can say "interior decoration". ... show more

  • Ordered 1 brush got several! Great for DIY jobs.
I ordered the brushes when they were available. They were as I'd say, discount brushes. The bristles were soft and they held a surprising amount of paint. Cleaned up just fine and I was able to paint trim, corners, my ceiling and walls while able to find a use for every single brush. At first I thought I was ordering just one brush, when I received the package it had several brushes in several different sizes and variations, which was a great surprise! Even came with a scraper/mudding knife. The handles are a little rough, they're untreated and cheap but honestly that's not what I bought the brush for. The coverage was great, the clean-up was great and I had no issues losing bristles or anything like that. If the brushes become available again I would order them without question. ... show more

  • Great set of brushes for whatever your need is Great set of brushes for whatever your need is
I was quite surprised when I ordered this paint brush and a full set of 4 brushes and a putty knife came in the package. Each brush is a different size including 1", 1.5", 2", and 2.5". The 2" is a shorter brush for getting into tighter spaces or if you just like the feel of the shorter handle. Whether you are a DIY hobby painter or an experienced painter, this set delivers reliable results. The brushes seem to be well made with wooden handles and nylon bristles. The bristles are firm yet flexible making them perfect for even strokes. I gave the 2" a good workout which entailed painting the trim on my workshop. The brush held the paint well without dripping and maintained its shape throughout the process. You can see in the attached picture the before and after condition of the brush. The variety of brush sizes in the set is useful for switching between detail work and broader strokes without needing to buy additional brushes. The brush cleaned up perfectly fine afterward with a little warm water. The pictures show the full set, the brush before cleaning and after cleaning. Overall, I think this brush set offers excellent value for the price. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good set of brushes to tackle those neglected projects around your house. ... show more

  • Nice basic brushes for the price Nice basic brushes for the price
These are good-quality brushes for the price. Although I thought I only ordered a single 1.5" brush, it came as a set of 4 brushes and a paint scraper, much to my surprise. The brushes have basic, unfinished wooden handles and are labeled with their size: 1", 1.5", 2”, and 2.5". The paint scraper is about 3" in width and has a shorter, finished wooden handle. The brushes feel comfortable enough in the hand, although the unfinished handle is a bit rough. I wear gloves when I do any type of work, so this doesn't bother me and gives me a better grip. The brush bristles are very synthetic and very soft. They seem as good or better than hardware brushes in the same price range. We will try these brushes out on a garden window that needs a polyurethane coating later this spring when it warms enough to open the windows. Getting the extra brushes was certainly a bonus. I can't say that will continue as the listing does indicate a single brush. The kit is an extremely great value, but even a single brush seems like a good value. ... show more

  • Very good quality brushes & scraper. Recommend!
I ordered this brush because my friends often tease me about my propensity to use "cheap" brushes and I wanted to upgrade to a much nicer looking, better performing brush. And then I get not just one very good quality brush with a long wooden handle, but a set of four, together with a well-chiseled 3" paint scraper (1", 1.5", 2", 2.5"). Wow...here is a company that not only believes in making a quality product but wants to show there is consistency in their product line and pride in their work. The bristles on these brushes do a very good job with latex paint, and I will definitely reach for one when it comes to staining wood later this spring. The bristles are plentiful, well-cut and angled for easier painting. Others will tell you all that, but there is another thing I appreciate about these brushes, and that is their plastic wrapping. I'm not one who rinses off her brushes between coats. I hate the thought of lates, varnishes and the like going into our water system. For that reason, I wrap my brushes tightly in plastic between coats so the brush stays wet. This system has worked well for me for years. The plastic cover that these brushes come with will help me do that. One brush or four...I can highly recommend! ... show more

  • Bonus Brushes Bonus Brushes
These paintbrushes are made beautifully. And who doesn’t love a nice gift? So I got many for the price of one. How kind of them! I plan on using these for some arts and crafts and also some furniture stains. I love using natural base staining to make light wood look darker. The last time I did this, I only had a cloth to do it. Let’s say the results weren’t perfect. Now I have a collection of paintbrushes to get the job done. These brushes are made very well and I love the authentic wood handles. It has a type of tip that is thicker than the base of the paintbrush. It seems as though the bristles are made with nylon. I look forward to using this set on my mini projects as I am confident that it will create such a difference and will definitely be better than my cloth I used in my previous projects. Even the mixing palette is made well. It has a certain amount of stiffness, but also a slight flexibility so that one can mix colors and paints well. Excellent quality and value. I absolutely recommend! ... show more

  • Versatile and flexible brushes Versatile and flexible brushes
I originally ordered one brush and ended up with a full starter kit, four brushes plus a bonus scraper! The set covers a range of sizes from 1" to 2.5", so whether you’re doing trim work or larger surfaces, you’re set. The angled tips make cutting in easier, and the bristles are soft, dense, and hold their shape well, making paint application smooth with minimal visible streaks. Cleanup is easy, especially with latex paint, though oil-based stains will impregnate the bristles slightly (as expected). The handles are solid wood, sturdy, and comfortable, though they can soak up water if not kept dry. Some bristles may shed initially, and the scraper feels lower quality, but both still have practical use. Overall, this is a great value for DIY projects, especially for home painting and refinishing furniture. Perfect for small to medium tasks, though serious or long-term projects may call for higher-end brushes. ... show more
