I'm very sensitive to citronella and this had just enough of it to repel and or kill the mosquitoes but not enough to give me any side effects at all. I despise the smell (not a fan of the smoke either) of normal citronella candles and torches so I was really hoping this would be different and it is! It has basically no smell or smoke. I have gotten headaches in the past from citronella so I was a little worried when I ordered this. We have now used it in our tiki torch lights a handful of times and it is perfect! Repels bugs- especially mosquitoes and even seems to repel gnats. The smell is very light and it doesn’t give me a headache at all.
