This product is awesome! I have heard mixed reviews and because everyone's hair is different it's kind of a guessing game anyway. I have baby fine hair, but I have a lot of it. My problem is that I can make my hair 80's rock band big (overkill so when it falls it's where I want it) and less than an hour later it's beyond flat. It used to be the only way I could ever get my hair 'big' or at least not so darn flat, is with a whole train of items each using a lot of product! I have used Big Sexy Hair's root boost plus,spray gels, powders, lotions, etc. and they are all pretty good, the only thing is that my hair still feels heavy and I REALLY don't like the "gunky-ness" of left over residues. However, I am one of those people who don't care how it feels as long as I/my hair looks good. Until now...after years of expensive products, trials and tribulations, I finally have an ALWAYS go-to product for my hair that doesn't feel awful and works like a miracle!! Seriously, if you are going on a vacation, or out of town and have limited space take this, kenra 25, and a comb (for teasing) and you are set! You must use this product on wet, combed-through hair. Spray at the roots and all over if you desire, (I run my fingers through to distribute), flip your head upside down and blowdry. The way this works is by separating the hair and creating a "weightless" effect. Perhaps the reason other negative reviewers didn't 'notice' a difference is because they did not know what to look for and because it feels so light and natural. Now, if you desire a very large hair style then you will need to add a thickening powder such as Big Sexy Hair's powder play to give your hair a 'grit' that helps you "build" upon. I will say one negative to this product, if you are like me and cannot stand the smell of grapefruit then sadly, this is that product. HOWEVER once your hair is dry the smell is nonexistent. Hence the reason I can still give it 5 stars. Finally, this product lasts me a long time. I can easily get 2 months of daily use out of it and I apply it liberally every time. Recap: 1) weightless feel and lift 2) no gritty, gunky, residues- hair feels squeaky clean 3) super easy management and control (no tangled or gunky hair to snag your fingers, combs, or accessories on) 4) smells strong like grapefruit until dried and then virtually no scent 5) this can will last a long time with daily use (lasts me 2+ months and I dose generously) Remember, everyone's hair is different. If you try this and it isn't what your looking for don't give up. I recommend Kenra, Big Sexy Hair, Redken's thickening lines, and Tigi's other volumizing products for alternatives. Goodluck!! :)

In my opinion, this is the best hair thickening/volumizing spray on the market for wet hair. I have long hair, fine but with a bit of wave, but stress has made it thinner these last few years. This spray and a hair dryer suddenly makes it full again. I have not found any other product for wet hair (and for dry only Oh Beehive and some sprays by Big Sexy Hair) that can do this. And the thing is that I do cosplay, stage and film, and sometimes have to get my hair to insane heights and volume with teasing, etc...and this is a DREAM. Anyone who feels insecure about your thinning hair buy a bottle of this spray and use your hair dryer (or even scrunch and air dry) and your hair will seem twice the volume without any hair spray added. And it smells yummy. I recommend following up with Oh Beehive (also Tigi/Bedhead) and the thickening hairspray by Big Sexy Hair. Buy this in quantity! I can hardly find it anywhere!

I've finally figured out how to use this spray to the best advantage. When I purchased it, I was looking for a spray to use on my roots that would give my finished style some volume. However, this spray is a styling product not a finishing one so it didn't suit my purpose at all. However, I recently read an article in a fashion magazine that suggested that layering two products is the best way to get nice loose beachy waves and have them hold all day. I use Living Proof No Frizz Weightless Styling Spray and absolutely love it. It's truly weightless and I can't feel it in my hair at all and yet it has great hold. So I sprayed LP on as usual and then added some of Superstar on top. I then let my hair air dry overnight and used a curling iron in the morning as usual. I have a layered lob (i.e. long bob) and my main objective was to get volume on the top but using this spray not only gave me great hold, it also definitely made my hair look thicker (and who wouldn't want that?). This spray definitely requires heat to work and although I'm allergic to the hair dryer (a complete klutz with the round brush, lol!), the heat from the curling iron definitely activated it and it made me look like I have a ton more hair. While it didn't really add the volume at the roots that I'd hoped for (I'm still looking for a root spray), it made enough of a difference for me to keep using it. This spray would also work really well for fine hair. When my hair was finally dry, it was a little stiff until I brushed it through, but this is a minor complaint. Once I curled it, it had a nice amount of body. And this spray actually smells pretty nice. I'm going to keep experimenting with the amount (I used just a small amount the first time) but I certainly noticed a nice difference and the effects lasted all day and into the next. I did purchase this spray on Amazon, where the price was about $7 less than Ulta's. It seems the magazine article was right: layering products really does help and gives me the illusion of much more hair. This spray didn't interfere with the effectiveness of the curling iron either. I now have a style that looks exactly like the picture I showed my stylist!! Yay!! I definitely recommend it if you want thicker looking locks. I'm sure it would work equally well if you blowdry. Guess I'll be keeping it after all, lol!
