  • HEAVY!!!
Size: 9
I was really amped about these waders when I purchased them. I won't complain about the quality, they are by all appearance good looking waders. I didn't find any flaws when inspecting them. The day after they arrived I suited up for a fishing trip to a local reservoir in NEPA, the 25th of March, the water temps were in the low 40's. The first thing I noticed once I had them on was the weight of the boots, I thought they were a bit heavy but I considered they're 1400 gram insulation so I didn't think much about it. We arrived at the reservoir for sunrise, the walk to the water would be roughly 1 mile through unmanaged woodlands. No problem I thought because I had done the trek hundreds of times. Well, my enthusiasm was cut short after about walking 100 meters...the weight of the boots was brutal! I couldn't believe how much effort it took to walk. By the time I arrived at the fishing location I was exhausted!!! My legs were like rubber. Let me say this, if you're traveling by quad to a location the weight shouldn't be an issue. If you're walking for any distance be prepared for a serious workout - A SERIOUS WORKOUT! Another issue was the padding on the knees. Be prepared if walking any distance your knees are going to feel like they've been sanded by 80 grit. My opinion is that these are not waders for walking over a distance. If you have a quad you shouldn't have the issues I did. The waders were warm, not a single leak...will I wear them again? Hell no!!! They're hanging in my garage as I write this. Hope my review helps you make the right decision. ... show more

  • Works very well!
Size: 8
Used these for duck hunting for basically all of last season, and did quite a lot of it. I had bought a cheap pair before but they ended up leaking, so I bought these to replace them, and it was a huge improvement in every aspect! The pros: These are phenomenal for the price! They're watertight, warm, flexible, and durable! I had some decent length walks in them to get to the locations for hunting as well as decent walks through water and they held up great while not being very restrictive. Personally I only used the shell holder once, it works for the task but I'll get to that later. The water was very cold where I was hunting and overall it kept me warm despite me hating the cold (I was still layered up of course), and when it started to heat up outside I did not overheat in them. The cons: Boots weren't quite as warm as I had expected. The sizing is also a bit disproportionate. I'm 5'7 around 120 pounds and am a size 8; the boot size was good, a hair big but perfect for layering, the problem is I had to cinch up the shoulder straps as much as possible and they were still too long for my size so they ended up sagging a little low. As a result of the sagging the shell holder was hanging too low for my liking, also the shell holder holds shells well but doesn't like to release them quite as nicely. I would certainly recommend these to anyone who is looking for a pair of waders especially people on a budget! While I may not have much to compare them to they did everything I needed and then some. They are perfect for a fairly mild climate and will be great for using all season whether its the warm or cold part of the season. ... show more

  • Boot size
Size: 10
Everything about these waders is great, except one thing and it’s a big one. The boot. The boot is comfortable and warm however the heel design is horrible. There is no curvature in the heel on the inside of the boot so when you walk the heel doesn’t grab and your foot slips up from the boot. I read reviews about this problem and so I order a size smaller on the boot and it still does it. I will try to buy insoles or make something up to keep my foot snug in the boot. Overall great bang for your buck just keep in mind the boot design is bad. ORDER A SIZE SMALLER (maybe even 2 if you can) TO MAKE BOOT SNUG. ... show more

  • Leak Proof
Size: 9
Zero leaks so far. Very warm. These waders have withstood a harsh season of duck hunting in the sloughs and timber of Arkansas. I do not own a boat, so I hike into the duck holes, walking between 1 mile to 4 miles total. Lots of wading through flooded timber, thickets full of cockleburs and vines with thorns. I am most impressed with the rugged sole of the boots, they will grip the slickest of surfaces and stick. They keep you very warm. The first time I wore them, I thought they were leaking, but it was all sweat because they kept me warmer than I anticipated. There is a bit of rigidity along the inside top of the boot where the waders connect, can get a bit uncomfortable when wearing less clothing in warmer conditions and poke your leg. Like all waders, no matter the brand, they aren't made for shorter people. I'm 5'5", so they bunch up a lot, as most do. The straps are pulled as tight as possible, but still too long. To help offset this, I crisscross the straps, the connections on the straps are different on each side, so the crisscross you have to do is more aggressive than preferred, making the straps more snug around your neck, but helps hold the waders up higher. Minor downfalls, but the price range and the overall performance offset those and make for a great set of waders. Solid purchase and I would buy them again. ... show more
