T-Taps work like they are meant to. Can use any of the 3 colors with each other, for example if tapping into a size 12 awg main line with a yellow T-Tap connector one can come off the tapped line with the red connector and 18 awg wire to go to a light fixture. I found these really helpful in wiring up the interior 12 volt RV lights. It takes doing one or two to get the hang of squeezing these together properly, but once you get it down it is fast to connect the T-Taps. The blades fit in very tightly for a good connection. All in all they did the job I wanted them to and they saved me time and crimping on the job. ... show more

The T tap is a good layout and would work well, but these parts are just such poor quality that they wouldn't work. I squeezed it till it clicked and then a little harder and then tested the connection with a multimeter and I didn't have one. I tried squeezing even harder, still no dice. I pulled the connector off the cable and surprise, the little metal blade hadn't actually managed to punch through the outer jacket of the wire. In addition to not being strong enough to punch through to the inner cable, I found several connectors missing the internal metal blade entirely. Moving away from the T tap to the spade connector meant for the wire being added, I had three of them that I crimped very, very firmly which simply fell apart when I tried to disconnect them from the t tap. The design is just fine, but the quality is so poor as to be useless. ... show more

I got these because I wanted to tap into turn signals and reverse light wires of my car. Before working on that factory fresh wiring, I decided to do some bench testing. These taps work by forcing the wire into a metal channel that is supposed to basically strip the sides of of the wire and make contact. In practice, this does technically work, but I have serious doubts on quality and safety of using this product. In every test I found it to break several strands in the tapped wire. I tried various sizes and I either got poor/no contact or far too much damage to the underlying wire. That might not seem like a big deal but if you ever want to remove them it leaves a mangled wire. I've also read cars with overly sensitive CAN systems will flag this drop in conductivity. With this known, I will not be using these in any project that needs 100% certainty, safety, or longevity.     • They work well when you make sure the male end is straight in the shell.

So first off, these did work for my purpose, not hacking my car's audio wiring harness to bits. They seem pretty snug once you get them connected. I kinda spun the clamps around the wire a time or two (don't force it) just to ensure penetration, but the same would be accomplished by lightly scoring the wires. So here's why I docked it a star. I connected everything up and none of my stuff worked. I ended up retracing everything, blah blah blah, but what ended up being the culprit was the male ends of these plugs. What happened with them is that the crimping process pushed the spade flat against the shell, so I thought I had them plugged in, but the spade just slide around the female opening on the clamp instead of sliding in as desired. Once I realized this, I bent them back into place, connected everything, and was a-ok. This was my first time using these types of connectors and I'm pleased with it. Just gotta make sure the male part is straight down the middle. ... show more

The ticonn t-taps worked well. I like the idea that if you tap into the wrong wire (as I did) you can just disconnect the male spade connector and leave the tap. One helpful hint is to press hard to be sure the male spade is in all the way, once that is achieved it is in tight and likely will not come out unless you pull it out. Good quantity for the money and the quality is good. ... show more

Arrived on time. Works as expected. I used the product to tap into an 18 gauge wire with a thick insulator. I scored the insulator before attaching just to make sure the connector would make a good connection.

Someone wasn't paying attention to the red T-Tap connection. You see in the photo the correct metal insert that taps into the wire on the far left. Next to that is the incorrect metal insert that appears to go with the yellow T-Tap. The blue & yellow T-Taps are for comparison. Most of the red T-Taps are incorrect. I hope to have 10 out of 40 good ones. ... show more
