Disclaimer: I have not yet bothered to use the binder feed (the electric part of the machine that is used to feed the coil through the punched pages). I just manually twisted it through - which works well. I have no iea how well the electric coil feed works, but if it’s anything like the rest of the machine, it’ll be fine. The punch has some nice features that make it possible to have slightly larger covers (top and Bottom) to the interior pages. The punch does cut at least 12 pages at a time. It can handle covers with two layers of cardstock that has been thermo-laminated (so pretty thick). Good cuts. Note: the pitch is a 4:1 ratio (4 holes per inch), so when buying additional coils, make sure you get the correct size coils. I make 1/2 size letter books (5.5x8.5”), and have been very happy with the results. Definitely a good machine.

I have used this a lot in order to get ready for this homeschool year. I'm happy with it and it works how it should. There is a bit of a learning curve, which I feel like I'm still figuring out. The handle can sometimes get a little stuck and hard to push fully down. Sometimes I think I've gotten it through and take the pages out for it to not have went through. Other than that, I've really enjoyed having it.

Update: received the replacement and it does work. Not completely happy with it still because I'm afraid I'll break it each time I use it. Debating on whether to keep or return it -------- Just received mine today. Would only punch holes on each end, did not punch any center holes. Very disappointed. Expecting a replacement tomorrow. Will update once it arrives and is tested.

I got this coil binding machine so I don't have to rush to the office when I just need one book made for an unexpected appointment. It works fine for that. At the office we have a machine that must have cost almost a thousand dollars that is very heavy and feels indestructible. Once a year or so I'll chunk out the standard booklets we give to clients. As the year goes by we make client specific books for various reasons. Usually I'm able to do it all on a single trip to the office (I usually work from home) and everything is fine. Several times, however, it has come up that I needed to make a new book, add a client, swap a page, whatever. You get it. This makes my home office a little more functional without having to lay out too much cash. The binder arrives almost completely assembled. Just put the handle on. It took about five minutes to set up, cycle through the 6 punches with the included cardboard piece (break in/remove any residual oils, according to the instructions) and get my first book bound. The spiral spinner works with just a little pressure from your hand on the coil. It's pretty easy. I tested it on an old notepad that I wanted to keep but was losing it's edge banding. Even with the old creased and wrinkled edges it worked well enough. The included cutter doesn't notch the end like you might want. Maybe if you play with it there's a technique I haven't discovered. In any case, you'll want to figure out how to use it to notch the end or use another pair of pliers to keep the spiral from spiraling out.

Had to return because product stopped working on the first day of use. Just received this message: “Return summary *Based on our verification of the item, if the item is not the item for which you had requested a return, is not in the same quantity, or not in new/unused condition, we will charge your original payment method or another valid payment method in your account.” If they try to recharge me for a product that didn’t work, I guess I’ll just submit a claim with my credit card company. Recommend staying away from this manufacturer for this reason.
