  • Love it.
Love it. Works as it should. I never bothered with the electric thing that spins the coil. I just do it by hand so not familiar with that feature.

  • DO NOT BUY, CHEAP, TERRIBLE QUALITY
This is such a terrible binding machine. It’s absolutely low quality and you can tell it is. It feels heavy, but definitely doesn’t seem durable and has some loose parts inside. The machine I received was defective and seemed like it was used because the box inside of it was already open. The electronic function did not even work. I plugged it into an outlet and it also caused a spark but I plugged it in anyway. It didn’t even have a green light indicating it was on and also when I plugged it into the machine, it did not turn on and the electronic spiral insert thing did not move nor did it have a light on the power button. It was easy to use. The hole punching worked fine, but it’s also pretty difficult to punch 12 pages like it claims without feeling that you will break your machine. Not worth it. I would avoid this except I really needed one of these machines and this one happened to have overnight shipping. If I had a choice I would definitely avoid this. If the electronic function did work, I would most likely give this a 3 star even at that, I still don’t think this is worth it. ... show more

  • Light Duty Machine
Light duty machine. It does not punch 12 sheets of paper. It struggles to punch more than 5 sheets. It will bind if you attempt 12 sheets and it is difficult to remove the paper.

  • Durable, user friendly, advantages over comb binding, main limitation is 12 sheet punch capacity
Coil binding sometimes looks more professional than comb binding. It also allows you to open the book all the way, or flip the cover over. One thing I'm doing with it is making sketch books for an art class. Just making a few dozen sketch books pays for the entire machine. The only downside is that our homemade sketchbooks do not have perforated pages. Otherwise they're just as good as anything storebought, and super easy to make. Other notes on this machine: High Capacity - It can punch up to 46 holes at a time, allowing for larger documents to be bound efficiently. Affordability - it is more expensive than generic options, but I find it affordable compared to other name brands with equivalent features. Build quality - Really great, durale enough for a workplace or school setting. There's no doubt this is better quality than generic alternatives. It seems very durable, made with high-quality materials, ensuring long-lasting use and reliability. You can adjust the margin size - something you don't often see in entry level binding machines, and you very rarely see in generic branded machines. User friendly - Setup is straightforward, controls are easy-to-use. Even kids can do it. You can re-use the coils. Operation is pretty quiet. Blade is great - clean cuts, no twisting of paper, no burrs or "hanging chads". Additional notes: It's heavier and bulkier than some other models. Part of the reason is the use of thicker steel. And, it does require manual effort to punch. The biggest drawback - you can only punch 12 pages at a time. They disclose this upfront - and that's not unusual for an entry level binder like this. But it is a bit tedious if doing larger projects. Overall a pretty easy thumbs up. ... show more

  • Complete Binding Machine kit with supplies
Machine is easy to put the handle (picture instructions), use for punching, and then install the supplied binder coils. I made an envelope journal of 8 greeting card envelopes. The coil cutting pliers are in the kit. couldn't find instructions, maybe I missed them? but it was easy to find videos on other "coil cutting pliers" sold on Amazon. The binding machine comes with 100 binding coils for 5/16" of material (here, it was 8 envelopes). Everything worked fine. I used the coil cutting pliers and then finessed the end of the binding wire with a separate pair of pliers, couldn't get it folded to my satisfaction. I think it is my problem, not the pliers! Good machine for limited jobs. The "Max punch capacity: 12 sheets/pages (80g(≤20lb) paper)". (which is good, keeps down the size of the machine. I could puch 203 envelopes at a time, easily. If you were consistently making 100 copies of a bound book, you might want to send it out but for prototyping, short runs, personal work, this is a great machine and kit. There are more binding coils in different sizes available from Amazon. ... show more

  • Don’t buy unless you already know how to use an electric binder-Useless Instructions!
Directions are HORRIBLE! Looked online for videos to see if there was something that would help. Even the videos aren’t useful. I am a relatively intelligent person. Hole-punching is easy enough, but if you’ve never bound anything before, the directions are worthless! I understood the premise of what it was supposed to do, but it ended up bending the paper and was just easier to manually thread the binders through the holes. Basically a lot of money for a manual hole punch. If I hadn’t missed the return window before I opened it and tried to use it, it would have gone back. ... show more
