Description

When do I need the dedicated GPU, and how do I switch between integrated and discrete graphics? For gaming, creative work, or high-performance tasks, we recommend using discrete GPU mode. Some models also require it to enable the highest refresh rate. Switch via BIOS or Control Center. A restart is usually needed for the change to take effect. Can I customize my laptop settings? Yes. You can customize performance modes, keyboard lighting, display settings, and fan control through the Control Center. Some models support per-zone/per-key RGB Customization. When switching system modes, ensure the device is plugged in. Is it normal for the fan to get loud during gaming? Fan noise during gaming or heavy use is normal—it's the cooling system working to maintain stable performance. You can switch between Office, Gaming, and High-Performance modes or set a custom fan curve via the Control Center. How is battery life optimized on this laptop？ Battery life varies by model and usage. Thunderobot laptops focus on performance with powerful GPUs, cooling, and vivid displays. For gaming or creative tasks, please plug in. For longer battery life, use Office Mode and turn off the discrete GPU. What should I do if I have a problem while using the computer? If you have any questions about the product, setup, performance, or usage, feel free to contact pconline with your order number. Our support team will get back to you as soon as possible to help resolve the issue.

    • Definitely worth it. Read this before purchase
I got this laptop around 2-3 weeks ago after my old asus predator helios decided to give out on me in just 1 year smh... rtx 5080 does not disappoint and they even let you overclock it?? WHATTT? Mine runs at 2600mhz clock speed 165-170watts which i could get more wattage out of it because my gpu only hits 70-78 degrees celcius. Build Quality: A tier, night and day difference from my old laptop, its got some weight and thickness to it which is totally fine and the plastic is definitely durable. One downside: they cheaped out with the wifi card in it. I replaced it with a killer wifi intel card, and instantly had a reduction of 23% ping (from 29 to 22) Im gonna hold my tongue because its only been a few weeks, but so far so good. As of right now this feels and plays like a high dollar laptop. This brand needs more recognition 100%. Pair it with a cooling pad and its a power house. Example frame rate. I can play ark survival evolved medium/high settings DLSS 1440p. With around 40-55fps. If you guys don't know this is the worst optimized game ever.... my previous 4060 had to play it in 1080p low settings DLSS for the same frame rate (looked like Minecraft when playing haha) ... show more

    • Good but overrated
it is a good laptop, well constructed and packaged. It has colored keyboard backlights. Key board is good and it has Bluetooth for my mouse. I love the display; it's great for my 65+ year old eyes. I bought it for AI. Wish I could go to 96GB DDR5. The reason it lost a star... it claims PCIe4 but shipped with a PCIe3 WD SSD. I confirmed the drive speed with CrystalDiskMark. I will be coding and hosting LLMs so the speed matters. ... show more

    • A good laptop
For an unknown manufacturer, the design is good. I’m talking about the internals and heat system. As soon as I got it, I cracked it open to install drives and add more memory. Just remember to use this plugged in. If it’s unplugged it will be incredibly slow due to the throttling, but most gaming laptops are like that. The noise when gaming is quite loud from the fans, but you can use headphones. It doesn’t seem to need additional cooling pads. I tried it out with a few games, but I mostly just use it for programming, and it’s very fast. The cost was high for a laptop (2.2k usd), but it is a higher quality product. The only drawback is the speed of computing when off the charger. The battery is just so the laptop won’t turn off if the power goes out. That being said, it’s a decent machine with really no other drawbacks so far. ... show more

    • Beware!
Set name: 16GB RAM | 1TB SSD
The laptop seems nice. A few problems with marketing though. The description says it has a RTX 5070 with 12gb of video ram, it has 8gb. It was shipped with the Quanta Computer Control Center, did not work (error msg stated the BIOS was incorrect). Went to the Thunderobot Support site, I could not find any mention of a AMD Ryzen CPU in any of their products (plenty of INTEL CPU's though). I'm thinking of sending it back but will wait and see if the video ram impacts the performance. We shall see. ... show more

    • Solid perf compared to other 18" but price after addl warranty is meh.
This laptop can run with the best of them however with its unclear and possibly absent support outside China (USA specificly) makes buying an ext warranty which often eats up whatever savings you may get especially after you take into account that the SODIMMS are the slowest available and the SSD is a Gen3 drive. Overall, Im happy but Im still nervous if it reqs service but I got the multi yr plan through Amzn/Assurion whom arent the most reliable either but better than a small OEM outve China. One functionality issue I found, although low severity, it triggered me daily, but the PC will puke RGB everywhere during boot and maybe even after its boots regardless of your control center settings however, I was pleasantly suprised to see the exhaust RGBs are easily unplugged if you remove the bottom panel, which Id recomend just to see its sweet cooling system and other design aspects, as well as to see the open slot for a secondary M.2 drive which makes the Gen 3 OS drive not as big of a deal as long as you get the 1 or 2TB and upgrade yourself later, dont get screwed in price with Gen 3 drive which who knows what itd come as in this RAMpocalyptic era! I got 64GB RAM so it came with both SODIMM slots filled, 2x32GB. Im not sure how smaller specs come but I also dont think dual sticks matters nearly as much on DDR5 as opposed to DDR4 but do your own research. ... show more
