  • Expensive and worth it
Style: TPR Pedals
I had an under $200 set of rudder pedals; they were ok but I could not use them with any degree of finesse, they were just not up to the job. I was very frustrated with poor ground handling and takeoff rolls (in M$ Flight Simulator, BTW). I got these, set them up, tried them for a while, tweaked the setup some, and have been very pleased with their performance. There are still some aircraft in the sim that are very twitchy on the ground (you try to correct a tiny amount, and the aircraft jumps like you kicked the rudder halfway to the floor - not realistic) - I attribute that to the mediocre ground model of FS plus some aircraft vendors have not spent the time to deal with that in their model. The TPR is pretty heavy, but I still find it necessary to have something to anchor them so I can push all the way to the floor if I need to. Most of the time not needed, but no fun when you need a lot of rudder and the pedals slide a bit. So I'd plan on having something to hold them very firmly in place (which is what I recommend for any rudder pedals, not just these). No, I'm not a big muscle guy, I'm not using THAT much force. Overall the action on the TPR is VERY smoooooth. I really like the range of adjustability of the pedal positions so you can keep the brakes out of the way when you're just flying. Also very nice to be able to set the pressure / force needed to actuate the pedals; you have springs that have a very wide range of adjustment. I prefer mine just a bit still, just enough so I can tell when the pedals are centered. These have contributed substantially to my enjoyment and immersion in the simulator; I'd never want to go back to my old pedals. So like I said - expensive, but worth it. Recommended. ... show more

  • Quality
Style: TPR Pedals
The price tag might frighten you, but the truth is that these pedals are worth it. Other pedals do not have an actual pedal's resolution or feel. These are so smooth, so accurate, and so well-built. The solid frame and engineering that went into these are evident. Works perfectly with X-Plane and MSFS. ... show more

  • Best pedals for the money, cheap plastic though.
Style: TFRP Rudders
These pedals are smooth, the toe brakes work excellently, and the axis output is clean with no jitter. If you use these on a hardwood floor, you will need to either replace the rubber pads it comes with with larger pads, or something similar - as they will not stay in place. On carpet they're just fine. Can't knock them for our smooth flooring though. They are plug-and-play, I did not need to make any effort really, my Windows 10 machine worked with them immediately. A+ for ease of use there, no driver hunting needed. The immersion that these simple pedals offer is fantastic, and they're quite precise. They helped me tremendously while I was learning how to transition from a hover into forward flight on the UH-1, and are a welcome addition to every flight simulator and game that they work on. I have been using them for about a month and they have not lost any of the smoothness in the movement and haven't developed and resistance to being actuated fully. Definitely a purchase I recommend for anyone looking to take the extra step towards realism with a flight game. The single star I took off is because they do feel like cheap plastic. At this price, I'm not surprised, but while I haven't noticed any flexing while in use they feel like they could be broken pretty easily. If they stay solid I'll be back to rate them up to 5 stars. ... show more

  • Best rudder pedals on the market
Style: TPR Pedals
Great rudder pedals. Pretty much like the 'real thing'. Nice solid build. These are great add-ons to any flight simulator setup. Works well with Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane (and probably others too).

  • Excellent value
Style: TFRP Rudders
I bought this last week despite a lot of bad press. They were cheap and plastic, they were too narrow, they were far too light - there was no end to how lousy they were. OK, there is a lot of plastic in them, but to me they do not feel cheap or flimsy. You can push on the plastic but it does not deform. For $80 or so you ain't going to get machined alloy. There are square rubber feet on each corner that grab the floor (wooden floor) solidly and there is no way the unit can move during use. The pedals are very strong and comfortable. I use them with socks on and there is adequate room, on them and between them. There is about 18cm between centre-lines of the pedals, and each pedal is about 11cm wide in the middle. They are about as wide apart, centre to centre, as a piper cherokee I have flown - an actual one. I suspect that a lot of the noise about them being cramped is from people who have not seen them, let alone used them. The pedals run parallel on metal rails, more or less silently, and very smoothly. You can unscrew the heel rests and use them with your heels on the floor, more like a real plane. I tried both, but prefer the rests in place. I placed the unit such that my legs were pretty much extended and got fine and easy movement in the pedals. I use them for Rise of Flight (WW1) so cannot comment on the brakes. I think that for $89 these are excellent pedals - quiet, smooth and solid - and I am really happy with them. ... show more
