Love these combined with pedals.
Style: Warthog MKII
I hadn't used a HOTAS in a long time. Had a cheap one probably over 10 year ago and I definitely consider myself a HOTAS beginner. I bought these because I wanted something durable and not made of plastic. I also liked that these used HAL because HAL is more accurate and durable than mechanical solutions. I am really happy with the way these feel. They are hefty yet have smooth movement. I noticed another reviewer had issues setting these up, however I did not have any issues. Both pieces were detected by my system without issue. The TARGET app isn't the cleanest and was a little confusing for me at first, being a HOTAS noob, but once I got my settings dialed in I was impressed. The unit's responsiveness is good, I don't notice any kind of lag or delay with my movements or using any of the buttons. One thing buyers should consider is that this unit doesn't have a Z axis, meaning you cant twist the stick. This means that in order to yaw you will need pedals, or some other solution. If your space or budget does not allow for pedals I would suggest looking for a stick that allows Z axis rotation for yaw control. Overall I have had a lot of fun using these and I am glad I made the investment. ... show more

So far, Unusable
Style: Warthog MKII
I got really excited unboxing these. They look and feel great. My problem came with trying to get them running. The manual directs you to the Warthog MKII support page for drivers. There are no drivers there. I searched their site but wasn't able to find them. I had to raise a support ticket. They responded promptly and told me that it uses the drivers for the original Warthog (why wouldn't the manual say that then?). I followed the instructions to install and, long story short, the throttle works fine but the flight stick is recognized as something else by windows and invisible to the firmware updater. I've tried every bit of troubleshooting I can find on their site and the internet--but until they reply back to my ticket it's all been just an expensive lesson in patience so far. ... show more

Downgrade from the original
Style: Warthog MKII
Precision movements are difficult because it tends to stick to the center. Doesn't feel like it should. Bearings also feel gritty
