The quality and durability of the boots is way better than all other brands I tried over the past 25 years. The insoles are amazing, but I eventually upgraded to laser made insole. They aren’t packed with stuffed tongue or cover with plastic to protect the leather and the structure of the boot. They are a USA made boot from the 1800s so they are light weight and versatile, with a mail in resole the boots for a more than $100. Has my closet filled with Thorogood that have been resolved. Minimal time to break in leather. Easily the most comfortable work boots I’ve owned and they last. Treads don’t pickup and hold debris and I can wear them on site for 12 hours with no issues.

The black boots look even better in person, I was hesitant at first because I am normally a brown boot guy. Let me tell you, these are some really nice boots. I love Thorogoods craftsmanship, you can beat the quality of boot for the price! Moving on, the stock insert is relatively comfortable, however I’m 225lbs so it does not provide anywhere near enough relief for my feet throughout the day. I use Walk Hero inserts, you can get them here on Amazon. I promise it’s the best purchase choice you can make along side these boots. The pair together will have you feel like you are walking on a cloud. Bonus of these boots is there is almost zero break in period! Toe box is roomy for big feet, I have wide, flatter feet, and the standard width fit me perfect. Arch support is good, as typical with most moc toe boots. I have had these in the past as a construction Electrician. Went into the office for several years, but, back in the game. Have had a few other big brands but these fit the bill, maybe a day or 2 break in(at least for me), got the wide. Comfy out of the gate. Might even get another waterproof version. But, you can get Kiwi spray roofer and it works. Try them, can always return ... show more

I've ordered a pair of these boots to only be disappointed not once but twice. The first pair I received the left boot had a lump in the sole under the removable insoles causing discomfort. I returned that pair and exchanged them for a different pair of the same boot. I should have just asked for a refund. This current pair the right boot is overall tighter then the left boot, the right heel is taller then the left and it appears the tounge has more material then the left boot. Overall a bad experience with thorogoods quality especially being close to $300. Now I can't return them because I've worn them for 60 hours a week for the past month trying to (break them in) but only to come home having horrible foot pain. I've even tried better insoles with no luck. ... show more
