I've been a working man my entire adult life, and I have to say these are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. Since I got them I have worked in rock quarries and lumber mills without issue. I've had them for almost two years now, and the soles are surprisingly durable, and the insoles are still super comfortable despite the cover fabric wearing off. Just keep them clean and oiled and they will serve you well regardless of the working conditions. Also, the laces that come with them are AWESOME. I love these boots, over the last 7 years in the trade, this is the only pair I buy. Never have I once payed over $300 for a pair of used, worn, scuffed up boots being sold as new. See my included pictures. I think I am a bit extra irritated about it because, for whatever reason, it has been damn near impossible to find these in my size right now. Wearing the Thorogood 1957 straight out of the box, they are quite comfortable for a leather boot. The build quality is outstanding and very high quality. I was surprised with the overall comfort standing and walking for over 12 hours the first day I wore them. The size is a bit odd though. I normally wear 11 men's (45 UK), but their 11 is too long for me. Also, I do not have wide feet and have never worn a wide shoe or boot. These boots I had to get the wide fit as the normal width is way too narrow and squeezed the sides of my feet. I ordered these in a 10.5 Wide and they fit great. If you're considering these, definitely find somewhere you can try them on first or be prepared to return or exchange due to the odd sizing. Overall, I am pleased with the boot. After finding the size that works, they fit fine and are surprisingly comfortable. I'm sure as they break-in they will become even more comfortable.
