    • Wish there was a user guide.
Had to play with it for quite a while to figure out how it is supposed to work. Don't know the accuracy as I had no error messages except the low tire pressure error icon. I think that sensor is broken since that icon has stayed lit for years. I was hoping that this tool would turn it off. But maybe since it's not an engine error I can't clear it? Again, don't know because there are no instructions. The "Quick Start Guide" is so basic it's useless. Hope that when I get a "check engine" error, I will get some worthwhile diagnostic information. ... show more

    • Wish I didn't need it...
I have an old Lexus RX300 that is my work car. I drive it 120 miles a day and only bought it to keep the miles off of my Jeep Wrangler. The Lexus has chronic check engine light issues and keeping the dash light off has become a very expensive hobby. This tool has been instrumental in helping me know whether I have to pull over now, send it to the shop soon, or simply reset and go on my merry way. Recently I had knock sensor issues (a major Lexus issue). When that code goes off the car goes into "limp mode" and won't shift into overdrive. That means 60 miles or more to get home at 45mph max. This tool allowed me to reset the light and get home on two separate occasions before I spent the nearly $2k on the repair. I don't really like carrying it around but its kept me from being stranded and also keeps me informed. For that it gets 5 stars. ... show more

Arrived super fast! Basic functions easy enough for to a novice to read. Found this after watching a mechanic on YouTube. There maybe other functions but I just purchased it for basic code scan for a check engine light on my 6 year old car. It indicates a bad O2 sensor. Folks these are also good to have if shopping a used car. If a check engine light has been temporarily reset this tool may help see a potential problem. It's compact, affordable, and does more then just read codes! It also clears codes, checks O2 sensors, other sensors, and checks for smog test readiness. It's easy to use, and even has a code lookup library, so it tells you what the code error means for most cars! It also reads the vin number of the car off of the computer! ... show more

    • Why pay $75 to $100 (or more) for a dealer to diagnose your vehicle?
Super easy to use. Turn the ignition (not the engine) on... plug it in... tell it to read codes and Viola! Plus, you can erase codes just as easily. You can search to see the error codes on the search engine of your choice. Oftentimes, engine controller codes are basically minor error logging and the byproduct of having a computer run your engine -- and we all know computers never have a hiccup, right? Very easy to use. Same codes as Autozone. I've only used it once, but very user friendly. I only used it to check the codes. I haven't used it to turn off the check engine light, but it definitely was an option to do so. With me having older vehicles, I'll probably end up needing to use it again.
