3/10/20 I have to admit that I came to Theragun after acquiring a less expensive no-name device on the Bay. After my massage therapist used the Hyper massage gun during a cupping session, I knew I wanted something better. This device won over the Hyper b/c: I love my body. 16mm vs NOT 16mm The handle design is genius. It’s perfectly balanced. 6 x rubber attachments (salves...) 2 x batteries Composed of high grade materials Head Pivots I returned the massage gun I acquired on the Bay. Here are my honest thoughts after using the no-name, the Hyper, and now Theragun. I’ll keep it short: The biggest difference I feel is that the Theragun feels like it taps (strikes) the muscle. I did not feel the tapping sensation as much when using the other devices. As I wanted a true percussion, which to me, mimics what my massage therapist does when she’s working a knot. To release knots, she rapidly presses on the knot a few times. The Theragun feels better, and I do not need to work an area as long, or apply as much pressure to feel the effects on knots and tender areas. I will post an update in a few weeks after daily use and putting it in the hands of my massage therapist, to use at my next session. There, I can once again compare the Theragun to its premium competitor device, the Hyper. Lastly, the packaging on this device is high quality, and the carrying case is also constructed of high quality materials. 4/8/20 Update: Due to the current situation, my monthly deep tissue massage appointments have been cancelled. HOWEVER, this device is so effective, I’m doing very well. With local gyms closed, I’ve had to dig into my bag of tricks that have been collecting dust since my military days when HIIT and regular runs composed my daily exercise regime. I’ve dusted off the kettlebells, Rogue weighted medicine ball (used for Wall Ball shots), 50 lbs dumbbell, and speed rope. I also recently made a 150 lbs sandbag out of an old Army issue duffle bag. All this made me realize how much I enjoy exercising outside, it’s such a joy. That said, this device has been heavenly. Yesterday’s workout included a 1 mile run followed by 400 double unders. After, I could feel my lower body respond to that activity; it was tight. I used the Theragun on both legs for a few minutes on each section and all the tightness dissipated. I still highly recommend, especially at the current reduced price point. I’ll update next month...

I don't spend money well when it comes to big purchases and constantly find myself over analyzing and putting off purchases for weeks and months trying to make the "right" decision. I did that same thing here but ended up going with the Theragun G3 Pro because regardless of the # of stars in the review people always said the machine was high quality.... and it is. Other guns may give you a similar result, i'm not sure but I can confidently say that this one gets the job done well. I run, swim, bike and lift - a bit over 200 lbs and this thing can really get in there and work your muscles deep without stalling or straining. In fact, when you are sore, I doubt you are going to be able to work this machine to it's max which is nice as compared to exceeding it's capability. It's become part of my daily routine, prior to training I hit the muscles I'll be working the hardest for just a few moments to "wake them up" and then after many times I'll run over everything again. I feel like recovery time is shorter now than it was prior. Also minor muscle strains are much less common now that it's become part of my routine. A really great sidebar to my intended use is the Theragun App and all the "other" things you can use it for. The night time pre-bed routine is awesome, it'll make your feet feel like they float :-) I'm not typically a reviewer but saw in my research that many folks were having the same quandary as me when deciding what product to purchase. No, it's not the cheapest but I can't imagine another product being better.

Picked this up on Black Friday and I was excited but skeptical. All of my skepticism went away as soon as I turned it on for the first time. My back and neck were crazy tight from a long week of traveling and work and all of that went away after about 5 minutes of use. Woke up the following day with less back and neck pain than I have had for years. As I have used it more, I have developed a routine of using it for about 3-4 minutes in the morning right after waking up, 5-7 minutes after working out, and 3-4 minutes before going to bed. My sleep seems deeper and overall I feel a lot better, with less need for NSAIDs for pain. The unit comes with a very premium feeling case that can hold everything you need. It's a bit large to travel with, so i do wish they provided a travel case. The batteries last a long time and are easily swappable when one runs out. This is a great feature as you always have one charged and available when you need it. If I had to criticize the unit, it is a bit louder than I expected. Also, I think a lot of the head attachments do the same thing and are unnecessary, like the big ball and medium ball. Lastly, it's a bit expensive but if you can wait for a deal on the unit I think it's totally worth it. For me, paying a little bit extra for my well-being is worth the temporary dent in the wallet.
