  • Great mpc. Not my best, but a solid, versatile choice.
For the price, it’s awesome. It plays well, it blows easily, and has a nice range of play. It’s intended for a more classical sound, according to Theo Wanne, but it’s well suited to my mix of musical exercises, hymns, and band music. Two things worth noting: 1) There are better performing mouthpieces, but not at this price (at least, not when purchased new). It’s a good, solid player — but to really make sense of it, consider the price and the outstanding support of the maker. 2) You have to get used to the material. It doesn’t feel like either hard rubber or acrylic. It has a different feel altogether that took a little time for me to get comfortable with. Bottom line: a good performer and a great value. ... show more

  • Great versatile and affordable mouthpiece
This is an amazing mouthpiece that provided me with the sound I've been searching for. Theo Wanne is good for classical and jazz! Don't let the 3 fool you, it is as expressive as any 6+. Only gripe: mouthpiece cover is only for storage and you'll need to improvise something to cover the mouthpiece when you set your sax down. ... show more

  • A great choice for any young saxophonist.
I purchased the Theo Wanne Water Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece for my teenage son, and he’s thrilled with it. It delivers a versatile, traditional sound that meets his needs perfectly. Seeing him happy with the quality makes me very happy too.

  • decent
it's a decent working mouthpiece and will increase your volume for sure. I still think a metal one would give a more solid tone over this material, but it gets the job done.

  • Theo water mouthpiece review
The mouthpiece met my expectation. Easy blowing. Great sound at a much affordable price. Highly recommended. Fast delivery.

  • Not a fan of the ligature
This mouthpiece sounded slightly better than my old Yamaha 4C. The ligature it comes with doesn’t hold the reed too tightly. Adjusting the mouthpiece moves the reed which is frustrating. The mouthpiece I received was used: box was torn, drawstring bag knot was undone, and the mouthpiece had discoloration on the rails. I ended up returning it. ... show more

  • You are gonna like it!
I've been playing saxophone more than 30 years and have a bunch of mouthpieces mostly 5 and 6 openings that I use with 2 1/2 to three reeds. I thought I would try this one out and I was totally surprised on how good this mouthpiece is for 100 bucks. I have had others listen to this against my other mouthpieces and this one was hands down the most mellow sounding and rounded. If you are playing just for yourself or in a small combo where you don't need projection and volume, this is perfect because it really sounds good, reminiscent of Paul Desmond. If you have a choice and need something for a student or beginner this would be a perfect mouthpiece, easy to play because it doesn't need much air volume so it is a light year better than the Yamahas or Selmers. Pair it with a 2 or 2 1/2 reed and enjoy. ... show more

  • Great Free Blowing mouthpiece!
Great advertisement of there more premium mouthpieces. This is the most free blowing classical mouthpiece I've played, and I've played an Optimum and another Van Doren, but this one is really nice in feel and quality. I imagine their more expensive mouthpieces are even better.
