Description

The Wedding Dress Christmas December comes to quaint Hearts Bend, Tennessee, with a blanket of white and the glitter of Christmas lights. For JoJo Castle there is no place like home. Her onetime love of adventure ended when her life in the big city came crashing down. Now that she’s home, she never wants to leave again. Country music sensation Buck Mathews has charmed the world with his smile and his music. However, news of his mother’s illness brought him home to Hearts Bend for the holiday season. Working with her cousin Haley in The Wedding Shop, JoJo has no aspirations of love. But when her high school crush returns to town, her buried feelings surface. Busy with his career, Buck hasn’t had time for family and friends, much less love. Seeing JoJo in The Wedding Shop reminds him there are things more important than his career. But JoJo and Buck have opposing life goals, and there’s no middle ground. Can love, especially the kind that touches hearts at Christmas, overcome her fears and his quest for greatness? With the help of a very special wedding dress, there just might be a Christmas miracle. Read more

  • Highly Recommend This Holiday Addition to the Series
Format: Kindle
THE WEDDING DRESS CHRISTMAS (The Wedding Collection Book #3.5) by Rachel Hauk is a heartwarming small town holiday romance novella. This story is a part of The Wedding Collection series which features a special magical wedding dress and while only novella length it packs an emotional punch. (Have the tissues ready.) It is Christmas time in Hearts Bend, Tennessee. JoJo Castle returned to the safety of her parents’ home after a horrific personal attack while working in Dallas. Her dreams of adventure and life in the big city are gone. While she is happy working with her cousin in The Wedding Shop and helping with projects around town, she has no interest in love or marriage for herself. Buck Matthews left Hearts Bend with a dream of country music stardom. His dreams have come true, but he comes home for the holidays when he receives news of his mother’s illness. While his career is at its height, being home reminds him of the things that are missing from his life. JoJo and Buck were close friends in high school, but life moved them in different directions. With opposing life goals and JoJo’s ever-present fear, can the magical wedding dress and the man in a purple shirt help these two realize a special holiday miracle? For a quick novella read, this story has well developed characters, an emotional punch and a holiday HEA. Even though JoJo and Buck’s romance moves quickly, it is believable because of their previous friendship and the realistic adult discussion of feelings throughout. There are no sex scenes in this novella. The religious elements in this story are hinted at Christian values and not preachy. I normally do not give novellas more than a 4-star rating, but this one deserves all 5. I am glad I gave it a try and now I want to go back and read the full-length novels in this series. I highly recommend this beautiful holiday romance novella! ... show more

  • The Perfect Fit
Format: Kindle
That swoonworthy cover is a prelude to the story inside. My friends know I love a good dress story and this is that with Christmas on top of it! Amazing! I have not read the previous books in the series, but I know about 'The Dress.' Certain brides are chosen to wear this special dress and when they do it fits them perfectly. A picture of the righteousness of Christ. This novella introduces us to JoJo and Buck. They were buddies in high school and have not seen each other for twelve years. Meanwhile JoJo has gone through trauma and run home to safety. Buck has become a huge country star and is home to spend some time with his mama after a cancer diagnosis. Whil Buck's star is still rising, JoJo wants to stay put. When sparks fly between them, will they build on this attraction? Or will it be snuffed out by their differences? And will 'The Dress' make a difference? Most certainly one of my favorite Christmas reads for 2024 and a reminder that I need to circle back to the earlier books in the series. Rachel Hauck is quite a storyteller! ... show more

  • Christmas Weddings, Small Town Warmth, and a Country Crooner...Yes, Please!
Format: Kindle
Rachel Hauck returns, uniting Christmas and weddings--two of my favorite things--again. She also goes back to her roots with hero Buck Mathews, a country star who falls for a hometown girl. The stage is set for a warm, cozy Tennessee romance, and I was all in. Rachel doesn't disappoint. JoJo Castle is a relatable heroine, at once gutsy and filled with fear thanks to a traumatic and personal mugging. I found myself identifying with her in that, while I haven't completely given up on being the bride, I'm past the starry-eyed phase and aware it may not happen. That's why it was a treat to see her try on the dress and especially the veil (I don't know why, but I'm a sucker for veils). I also loved how much JoJo loved Hearts Bend and wanted to give back. She's the furthest thing from a country groupie and as Buck finds, that's as refreshing as chill December wind. As for Buck, well, who couldn't fall for him? My interest in music kept me engaged in his arc, but his heart kept me engaged in him. I should be so lucky to find a man who'd give up a European tour to help his mom through cancer and get a chance with the woman he's always loved. I also loved the scene where he and Jo write the pageant song together, and the scenes where they bonded over things as simple as hot chocolate and fries. (Never tried the combo..mental note...) The Christmas setting enchanted me from the first, especially inside peeks at things like the decorated Wedding Shop. Rachel also added a unique element with the Castle family "holiday curse," and the fact that God can and does redeem that sort of thing. I actually wanted more of that, since I loved the story of Mrs. Castle getting to live in her dream home so soon after one of those tragedies. Some of the plot got a little wearing, especially when JoJo flatly refused, several times, to let go of fear and consider letting Buck in her life, let alone marrying him. Inwardly, I was screaming, "Girl, this guy is a PRINCE and if you don't want him, I'm coming in there!" I understand exactly how the mugging would've influenced that, but I've never been a fan of characters who dither. That said, I still thoroughly enjoyed my latest visit to Hearts Bend and want more ASAP. ... show more

  • Beautifully written
Format: Kindle
After starting the book, I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. JoJo and Buck were friends in high school. When Buck comes home for a Christmas visit and some down time will they finally admit the feelings they have for each other? And the story of the wedding dress will blow you away.
