  • For me the most clearly arranged Beginner Violin Book I could find!
I'm just starting to learn the violin as an adult and was looking specifically for notes like these, with the fingers marked as numbers and the strings marked with the letters. Before finding Julia and her Violin Book I was looking at a violin book from someone else, where both fingers and strings were marked as numbers and I found that this just made everything extremely complicated because I kept confusing which number was the number for the string and which one was the one for the finger. I'm really glad about having found Julias book, and I can fully recommend subscribing to her email newsletter as well (I don't think I've ever stayed subscribed to a newsletter before, but I love hers), there keep beeing free notes and other gifts and useful information and then there's always Youtube videos to go with the notes as well. Also, I do really love the type of songs she chooses to include, in this book they are put into categorys regarding the difficulty which I find really helpful. In this book the songs I am most looking forward to playing are "Greensleeves" (Difficulty 3 out of 3, so I'm hoping to get there at some point!), "Amazing Grace" (Difficulty 2), "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" (also difficulty 3, I love Lindsey Stirlings version of that song, so I can't wait to play it), "Frère Jacques" (difficulty 1) and "Sur le Pont d'Avignon" (difficulty 2). The free gifts from the newsletter include more modern songs as well, including pop songs and film music, including songs from Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribean. I am more than happy, many of the songs I now got from Julia are songs I wanted to find violin notes for anyway, and thought I'd need to search for each one on my own, so having all of them together and with the same coding for fingering and strings is a real treasure! ... show more

  • Great Starter Violin SongBook
This is a great starting violin songbook. The songs are not to difficult and have made my practice so much more enjoyable. The author also has a very nice website and offers a "beginner boot camp" which works really well with this songbook.

  • Thanks Julia Termeer!
This is an excellent book with sheet music for 51 different titles! All arranged to be easy enough for beginning players. There were several titles I was familiar with and a few that I was not, which is nice. The only thing I would have liked to have seen would be to have the stings listed above the notes with the finger numbers. It seems hard for me to look both above the notes and below the notes at the same time, though this might help force you to learn to look at the notes and know which string to play. Overall I am very pleased with the book. ... show more

  • Great collection of sheet-music for beginner violinists.
Thanks Julia, for the hard work in producing this book, and for making it available free. I am an adult violin beginner, and I think this book will be very useful for me. (I take of 1-star because Kindle-format is not directly usable for me. I'd prefer to be able to print the song-notes out, and use the sheets in the traditional way.) ... show more

I've been watching Julia's YouTube violin lessons and using her sheet music/tabs for a year or two and both are great. I like that she clearly ranked the difficulty of the songs and that I can easily read the music directly from my Kindle when I perch it on my music stand. I'm loving "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" right now. Thanks for making this available, Julia! ... show more

  • It's the ultimate book for all beginning violinist
This book from the first page addresses how to read the music by each string & placement of each associated finger. The author writes very clearly & with the interest for the player. I believe her approach is unique & inspiring to anyone picking up the violin. Any future violin materials by this author most certainly I'll be the first inline to buy! ... show more

  • I really like that the songs are divided into easy
As an adult beginner I found this book very helpful. The tab system shows which string and which finger to use to play the note. I really like that the songs are divided into easy, medium and hard difficulty which allows you to progress to more difficult songs as you work through the book. A very nice collection of songs for beginning violinists. Thank you Julia! ... show more

This is a very simple, clear book to get you started playing the violin. The songs are really easy to start with and are graded in degrees of difficulty which I found really helpful. I would highly recommend that you follow Julia's videos as she is a very detailed and good teacher!
