  • Jury is still out
I purchased the "soft Queen" pillow and it's not soft; it's more like a trucker's seat cushion. However, this is both good and bad: bad if you're a back sleeper and want your head to sink into the pillow; good if you're a side sleeper. If you sleep both back and side? You have to determine which is your priority. The pillow is very supportive. It is heavy as others have noted. Still trying to decide if this pillow is heaven or hell. I've been alternating with another pillow for several weeks and I look forward to using it, and by the end of the week, look forward to shifting to a more traditional pillow. If you're solely a side sleeper, I recommend the Purple Pillow without reservations. Otherwise, you may just have to try it for yourself. ... show more

  • Finally! A pillow that I love
I have cervical stenosis and I have tried more than a dozen pillows and while I may like them for a few night, I then dislike them but continue to sleep on them. I first bought the Purple latex pillow and it was too thick for me, but my husband likes it. I then bought this Purple pillow and removed one booster and it’s perfect. I’ve slept on it for more than a month now, so I’m confident that it is THE ONE! ... show more

  • Best pillow for neck pain
I’m primarily a back-sleeper. I have 2 bulging discs in my neck and a little arthritis. On a typical day, I don’t usually have pain if I crack my neck 5 or 6 times total over the course of the day. But sometimes the pain will flare up and it persists for about a week. I haven’t been able to use a “normal” pillow for quite some time now. I’ve tried the little peanut shaped ones for between the knees, I’ve used camping pillows, buckwheat pillows, the weird little neck bolsters and neck foam pieces that look hilariously like a part of the male anatomy and somewhat like a bicycle seat, couch pillows and no pillows. Prior to this purchase, I was using a very flat 18” x 18” couch pillow. TBH it looked gross bc a lot of the velvet was worn but it was the only pillow I could use consistently without pain. I’ve only been using this pillow for about a week now but so far it is phenomenal. Idk if I’d recommend this for someone who likes to sleep with their arm under the pillow- it’s quite heavy but for me, this seems like the perfect product. ... show more

  • Expensive Pain Inducer
This pillow has a very nice pillow cover that is soft and breathable. The zippered section in the back is nice as the zipper lays flat and tucks in. The zippered area is in a U shape and is smaller than the pillow to keep things from spilling out when you're trying to change the boosters. I use a satin pillowcase so I can not attest to how well the pillowcase holds up to hair products and oil but it is very stretchy and doesn't bunch up when used. Even though the pillow has a grid design, they have never left marks on my face and I have very sensitive skin. With that said, I have tried sleeping on this purple pillow for the past two months and the longest stretch of time I could tolerate was about 4 nights. Any longer than 2 nights and I am in extreme pain and discomfort. I keep trying hoping for a change but without any relief. It has felt like trying to break in some too-tight shoes only to find out that the shoes can not be broken in. After one night, my back and neck will hurt and by the next night I have a massive headache. I've taken the boosters out, switched them up, put them back, used one and then the other, folded one in half for contour, tried putting my hand and arm under it to make an incline or contour, and even cut some thick cloth padding to stack in strategic places under the pillow to make a contour to support my neck, but none of these methods have helped. When I sleep on this pillow, there is a gap between my back and the bed so I've used additional pillows to compensate with no relief. I've tried to sleep with the pillow the long way to keep my back on the pillow but it just doesn't work that way either because then there is a gap at my neck since my head doesn't sink enough into the pillow. I have an adjustable bed so I've tried to lift my head and tried sleeping flat but no change in comfort with this pillow. It's as if my head isn't heavy enough or something. The pillow has a little bit of give but not much. My head just seems to rest on a somewhat softened brick top. I'm so disappointed because this was no cheap pillow. To pay over $100 for something that causes me more pain and discomfort is by far unjustifiable. I typically try to make the best of any situation. I will usually just suck up any issue I have with products if possible or try to rig something up so that I can use it but this is not a pillow I can sleep on. I read the reviews and I do agree, this is a super heavy pillow, but I don't care how heavy the pillow is. I just wanted a comfortable pillow. If I press into the pillow with my hand, it does press down, and to press it from the side makes it collapse giving the appearance of cradling the body but once even pressure is placed on the pillow from the top, it doesn't give that cradling effect. The amount of force a hand gives is not the same as the force given from a head resting. I wish I could get my money back but I don't feel comfortable sending something back that I've slept on and fidgeted with for this extended period of time. The pillow is long enough for me to roll from side to side without having to slide the pillow over. Maybe it can be used on the sofa as back support or a seat cushion (but what an expensive seat cushion though). It won't stand up if leaned against a surface because it's wiggly, well flexibly. It reminds me of super-tough jello that had too much gelatin. If you poke your finger in it, it gives a little but if you laid your hand on it, it was just stiff. Smh. I can say that after all the adjusting and shifting and putting it to the side for another try, it has not lost its shape. There are no indentions in the pillow and it happily springs back to its original state each time. I just can't sleep on this pillow without being in pain. I gave this pillow 2 stars because it is well made and both the pillowcase and pillow appear to be durable. ... show more

  • Best Pillow Ever, So Far!
For the past few years I have been using memory foam pillows and have found a few that I had really liked. However, they do in fact retain heat and will make my head sweat in warmer weather. Then, recently, I woke up with sever neck pain that has lasted for many weeks. I realized that my pillows clearly had something to do with this so I found this pillow and wanted to give it a try. Since I have had it, my neck pain has significantly improved and I have been sleeping better with this pillow. I love how it feels which is much different than memory foam and it does seam it will be cooler in the warmer weather which is around the corner. I laugh when I read reviews on how this pillow is too heavy....it is a bit heavier than a memory foam pillow but certainly not too heavy and I have no issues placing my hand underneath it when I sleep, unlike what some reviewers complained about. So comfort and support is excellent!! It is a bit thin, even with the removable insert it comes with so I do use a very thin pillow underneath to raise it up to my comfort level and it works perfectly. I only need a cheep thin pillow to achieve my desired pillow height. So it is expensive but I think worth it and would recommend to anyone having neck issues from their current pillow, especially if you are using memory foam like I had for years. I am very glad I got this! ... show more

  • Firm
So good we bought another. The wife loves the support for when she reads in bed. I like the firmness but would like it an inch shorter.
