You had me hooked at trans Prince, but the 2 hot guards grabbed me by the neck! This might only be novella length, but the depth to it when it comes to how transmen struggle and have to navigate life and sex? Oh, heartbreakingly perfect. Elwood and Kaiser?!?! I don't have the words 😫🥺🥵🤌🏻🔥🖤 I'm so excited for book 2 to see where the Prince and his guards grow and go from here. That ending?!?! Beau, now wtf you mean! I knew with how short it was that it was going to be a little fast paced but I didn’t realize just how fast. The plot was there but it was thin and the character development felt rushed to get them into the bed faster. Plus it ended on a cliff hanger 😭 I don’t regret reading the first book but I’m Not sure if I’m going to read the second. Plot ⭐️ ⭐️ Characters ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice 🌶️🌶️ Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The story follows Crown Prince Hal, who has just turned 21 and finds himself frustrated that he has not yet had a meaningful and intimate relationship. Not only that, but he wonders if it will ever happen. Except he doesn't necessarily have time to wonder, because he is sent on a hunt with his two new guards. His very, very attractive to new guards. And Hal has precisely zero poker face. Except those guards seem more than receptive. You all can imagine what comes next... Having read this author before, I know they write a quality story a generous helping of steam. Adding to those aspects was an impressive amount of subtle but present character development that felt organic and well-paced. To add another layer to this tale, the worldbuilding is done with such intention and ease that the reader finds themself understanding the world and it's customs without being conscious of having learned them. I really, really enjoyed this read and would definitely recommend it to those who enjoy some fantasy, romance, some adventure, and a very healthy helping of steam. And that plot twist? It will leave you wanting more.

Quick read. Simple plot, but wonderful spice. Characters were well developed while not overwhelming the story. Loved the LGBTQ+ theme.

Can’t wait for book two (comes out about a week after review posted). Simple story plot with an interesting little twist at the nd, just wish it was about 3 times as long with more details.

A great combo of all my interests in one. I find it difficult to read long novels so I appreciated the length. I could always use more polyam gay trans man rep. Hot sex scenes. And can’t wait to get even deeper into the fantasy of the series. Very fulfilling read!

I loved the story of Prince Hal and his guards and his journey to discover himself and what he is capable of. I think the story could use more world building. But overall, I loved it. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
