This is a lovely jacket. It is warm but not the kind of bulky super warm down jacket for backcountry. I bought it in white mainly for a "dressier" look when worn by itself, but also to layer under a water resistant outer layer for more warmth, like for snowshoeing. The higher neckline is wonderful because I hate cold air going down my neck and with this jacket I don't need a fleece neck gaiter unless it's really windy and cold. I like that it is slightly fitted at the waist so I don't look like the Michelin tire guy. It also has an elastic cuff but not a knitted cuff so there's not too much bulk around the wrist with another layer. I read the reviews and sizing recommendations and originally ordered a Medium. I am 5'6 and 130 lb and it was too small and constricting especially the arms. There was no room for any layer other than a teeshirt. The Large is perfect. I can wear a fleece underneath without a problem and it still has a nice fitted look. Exactly what I wanted and happy I found it on sale as well. ... show more

Fits perfect around the waist, however, tight in the chest area. I wear a medium and wear a 34b cup, yet this coat squeezes my chest super tight. If I got a large it would be big around the waist and probably comfortable in the chest area. Don’t buy it if you have boobs at all. Returning.

    • Unusual "stains" and no waterproofing

I bought the jadite green for myself for an Idaho winter. I think it is warm and comfortable but the strangest thing: it has these strange stains that look like grease but they aren't grease. The fabric is somehow darkened in random places. I have washed it on gentle cycle several times and each time, I dry it on low with a tennis ball in the dryer. I got more aggressive and finally, out of desperation, soaked it in vinegar for a day before I washed it. Some of the stains were gone but new and differently shaped ones began appearing. My theory is that the feathers were not clean when the coat was assembled, but the stains are only on the exterior. The interior is fine. I don't know, but I am really disappointed. In addition, it's not the flattering fit I thought it would be, but I intentionally upsized, per the reviews. ... show more
