Yep, this one's a keeper. Probably one of the best tents in the price range. A palace for one person, good size for two w/some gear, three....maybe, in an emergency w/gear in the vestibules. But then again, anyone who has any sense, knows that all tent manufacturers are the same when it comes to number of people. The design is excellent, the double vestibule works out well. 4 mesh pockets of decent size. Most importantly, it deals with rain with no leakage. In my opinion that is the key, a leaky tent is a no-go. No splash-up from the rain fly. Poles are good quality, the mesh components are well thought out. I have used it all this spring, summer and now the fall and find it to be my main tent for extended canoe trips.

Great tent for harsh weather

My daughter and I went camping for the first time ever. I knew that it was projected to rain but decided I wasnt going to cancel my trip. Instead I would just buy a tent made for withstanding the rain. I settled on North Face's Stormbreak 3 because North Face is known for having quality products, the price was reasonable, and the reviews looked decent. Even though a few reviews complained of leakage issues I decided to take my chances. I figured, to be safe, that I would set up a tarp on a ridgeline over the tent for extra protection. However when we arrived to the camping site, I discovered that the trees were protected and we were not allowed to use them for camping purposes. That made me nervous because Heavy rains were projected for the majority of the camping trip with 50 mph winds. I decided that I'd just set up my tent as best I can (which I had practiced doing at home). Setting up was quick and easy to do alone but the rain fly was tricky and I needed help, especially with the strong winds blowing it around. Within an hour of setting up the rains started. Several people who I had went camping with brought those large 6 person core tents while a few brought small 2 person tents. The core tents kept blowing away in the strong winds which made me nervous that mine would be next any minute. Well, that never happened. Then a few of my friends had pretty bad water leakage issues. Several had to go sleep in their cars. I, however, was bone dry in my tent and was able to sleep through the night with no leakage issues. The rain fly didnt have any condensation on the inside either which was a second concern of mine but maybe that was due to the high winds preventing condensation build up. Another thing about the rain fly, I was able to keep my wagon and folded up 2 person camping chair under it to prevent them from getting wet. I was surprised that the wagon fit under there while opened. I would reccomend doing that if youd like some place to keep items without putting them in your tent. Overall, the tent is relatively easy to set up, worth the price, a good size for 2 people, incredibly well built for harsh weather, and pretty light weight.

One of the best tents l have ever owned. It is easy to set up and take down. I have used it in horrendous rain and wind storms and l have stayed dry and comfortable throughout the night.

Avid kayak campers. Upgraded from a 2 person. First night on river we slept peacefully and dry through a 5” downpour. We did use the footprint as we only camp on gravel. We have no issues with seepage from underneath.

I work as a wilderness guide and I love it. I camp on out islands of the Gulf (the one bordering US and MX). I am confident in the way it handles wind and storms. would definitely buy again. Recommended to a fellow guide who also was very happy with the purchase in the next size up. I had the NF Tadpole in the 90's and gave it to a family member before a big adventure. this is a great replacement. I am not worried about sideways winds rain, or condensation. great design.
