The set has everything you need to start out. Shaker, strainer, double-ended jigger with engraved measurement markings on the inside, long bar spoon with a disc on one end for muddling, a really solid bottle/can opener, and a sturdy wood cradle with a basic black matte finish to hold it all. The base is heavy enough to keep everything from falling over and looks pretty nice displayed in my glass-front hutch next to my wine glasses. The media could not be loaded. I live in Las Vegas, so cocktails here are an art form. And I love the KITESSENSU brand due to its professional-grade products. This set, though, is not meant for the professional bartender and is more of a housewarming gift for someone who still needs the essentials. When you receive your package, you will first notice the great packaging and the bar utensils elegant holder. The one drawback to this holder is that, unlike the knife block that comes with your set of knives, this holder does not have any extra slots to put additional items from the company. And the holes that have been cut into it only allow those exact items to be placed in them. This makes it easy to figure out where you should put everything, but not so easy when you plan to expand your set. Outside of that, everything is of excellent quality. The cocktail shaker is a great medium size and fits well in your hand. The cocktail strainer is a must-have for most cocktails, and this one fits nicely on the cocktail shaker cup. The combo makes one-handed pouring easy, elegant, and effortless. The jigger is a nice touch (that hour-glass shaped item). The large end measures 1 oz of liquid, and the small end measures 1/2 oz of liquid. Cocktails are, after all, part chemistry, and having the proper ratios can make or break your drink. The spoon is a great height, so you can twirl the ingredients without spilling or getting your fingers into it, and it can double as a muddler when you use the flat end. One note, while it can double as a muddler, I would purchase an actual muddler. This will do in an emergency, but not something you want to use on a regular basis. I love, love, LOVE the bottle/can opener. It is a solid state-of-the-art piece of equipment, and these days you don't see these types of bottle openers around as much. Usually, you have a wine opener that can also open bottles, but it is not as sexy looking as this. Honestly, since I already have all the other items, my main reason for purchasing this set was for the holder and this opener. I just love the look of it. And, of course, rounding out the set are the ice tongs. I don't get why people still include these since, in the United States, the last time someone used tongues to plop a cube of ice into a drink was probably in 1979. They are flimsy, unnecessary, and are the antithesis quality-wise from everything else in this kit. But all in all, this is an excellent gift because it presents well and is pragmatic, especially for the price. ... show more
