The coat is lightweight and warmer on a cold windy day than I thought it would be when I opened the package.. I looked at it and thought "what the hell". But It's actually warm--HOWEVER, it's no down parka. When it gets below freezing, it isn't warm enough. At 25º or so, it just isn't much good. It's a good mid-temperature winter coat. Super nice fit. I’m 5/9 170 pounds and a medium fit me well worth the cash. It’s light weight and wind and water proof. Only downside is no inside pockets.

Tubby guy so I got 2 XL and it fits me a little lose. My check is big and I got big biceps due to working out and I got more then enough room in the jack. Used it in 18 degree weather and the cold air couldn’t touch me. Breathable. Im able to wear this thing in a car with the heater at full blast, or in a warm room and not sweat my butt off. I'm quite enjoying this jacket. I've worn it every day that I've gone outside since I received it, and it's an essential part of my perfect keep-warm bundle: Bates Men's GX-8 Gore-Tex Waterproof Side Zip Boots (worn with Thorlos Mens Mcb Max Cushion Combat Over the Calf Socks), VELAZZIO Thermo1 Battery Heated Gloves, an authentic ushanka made in Belarus, and this jacket. I've always been tall and thin, and at least for me that has always translated into very cold hands and feet in winter...but no more! Finally, at age 57, I have found everything I need in order to stay 100% comfortable in the coldest cold. One piece of which is this jacket. It's lightweight, crazy comfortable, and crazy warm. This is a very nice, lightweight and warm coat. My only nit is that it's not quite as warm as I expected. But it's smaller and lighter than most coats in this category, so I can't be too surprised. Overall, good purchase.

Decided to replace my older Apex jacket with this hooded version. Same fit but with better sleeve closures. Hood is a plus. Great coat.

Fit is as expected. Very happy with all TNF products I own. This jacket is no exception. It's light, warm, and blocks the wind very well. The hand pockets aren't as deep as my other TNF jackets, but it's not a problem. The upper chest pockets are deep enough to fit larger size iPhones and has a hole to run earbud wire. The hand pockets and the neck band are lined with soft material. Only wish the hood was removable. ... show more

This jacket is HOT! You cannot wear it unless you are out in freezing cold temps. If you try to wear it even in a car etc you will sweat. I wish I could return it. I don’t even think it’s genuine north face.
