  • Nice and warm
Size: X-Large Color: Tnf Black
Love it for these colder months. Blocks the wind extremely well and keeps the heat in. Fit is true to size.

  • Nice jacket, but not for outdoor adventures
I purchased this jacket prior to a trip to southern Chile. I wanted a softshell jacket that would keep the elements out and remains breathable while I go hiking around Patagonia. This jacket is not suitable for that purpose. Disclaimer: I really like this jacket. It is a great looking jacket. It fits well. Very warm and cozy. The wind in Southern Patagonia was up to 100 km/hr, and this jacket (on top of a base layer) kept the wind out and kept me warm while walking around town playing tourist. When I actually engaged in moderately strenuous activities like hiking through the hills and mountains of Chile, however, this jacket is not breathable enough and soon I was sweating in the inside, despite having only one base layer underneath. My phone which I often leave in the left pocket would be wet with condensed moisture inside the jacket. It also proved to be heavy and cumbersome to carry as part of a layering system. In short, the North Face Apex Bionic Softshell Jacket is a warm, comfortable, and stylish jacket to wear around town. I wear it regularly in cooler weather while traveling to work and running errands. It's very nice for a stroll through the park or sitting in a bar drinking beer. It's a nice jacket to wear at the office to let people know that you like the idea of the North Face and the idea of the outdoors and that on the weekend you think that you could climb a mountain. But for actual outdoor activities like climbing a mountain... this jacket is silly. It's too heavy and doesn't breath well enough. If there is exercise induced tachycardia and/or bears involved, leave this jacket at home and wear something that's actually made for the outdoors. ... show more

  • Nice style and fit
I got one of these along with a Columbia Ascender to see which one I liked best. This one won. I like the style and fit of the Apex better. This doesn't have the velcro straps at the wrists like the Columbia, but these sleeves are slightly longer and cut so the inside is just a hair shorter than the outside, which I liked. The fit in the arms seems a little snugger than the Ascender, but not too tight. My bit comments are all based on wearing this over a tee shirt, but there's room if I wanted to wear a light sweater. That's the fit I wanted since this isn't a real cold weather jacket. The outer material seems like it will be more wind and water resistant than the Ascender too. The zippers are all work well and the pockets are a good size. This seems like it would be great to layer under a parka for really cold weather. And there's always the Limited Lifetime warranty from North Face. ... show more

  • Not as warm as expected
This jacket has a nice color and I've received tons of compliments. TNF has issues with the collar not staying down. Please note, this specific jacket is a newer version of the Bionic style...not quite as well insulated as the 2018 versions. The white gets dirty very quickly on the sleeves. Other than that and the "stickered" logo on the front, it is a well priced jacket. I bought a Mens style since I couldnt find a Womans at a reasonable price. The logo isnt embroidered like many of the older versions and styles. It was a little big for me but I wanted a comfortable fit without having to return it. ... show more

  • Nice jacket, but the sleeves are freakishly long
This is a nice shell for the money. It fits well, but the sleeves go down almost to the end of my fingers. Bizarre. There is no velcro or cinch on the sleeves to keep them above the hands.

  • Very happy!
Love this coat and the color. I normally wear a Medium to a Large depending on the brand, (im 5'8, 135lbs with really long arms) and from the reviews I saw this ran a bit small so I ordered a Large. Id say it fits perfect, still w/ a bit of room to spare for thicker clothes underneath. My only complaint was the shipping method, I said it was coming Fedex, only to be tranferred off to the local post office (which I dont prefer due to limited delivery hours and sometimes they leavea tag and make you drive there to pick it up and I often cant make it before they close), not sure if Amazon or this company has any control over that or not, I would think so, but... ... show more
