Features

  • Add 1/4 cup (Negg capful) of water to the Negg. Add your hard-boiled egg and snap on the top cap.
  • Now you're ready to slip the egg out of its shell. SHAKE the Negg up and down with enough force so that the egg strikes the caps. Remember to take it a little easy, or you will end up with a slushy mess complete with shells.
  • Shake until you feel the shell begin to "soften" - approximately 4 to 12 times. Timing will vary. The body is clear so you can watch the progress.
  • When you see the white of the egg appear, you're done. Mission Accomplished. The egg will then slip out of its shell.
  • If the egg is a reluctant sheller you may have to break the membrane after shaking to get the shell to release. This can happen with extremely fresh eggs, and is not the norm.

  • Good enough.
Color: Blue
So. I hard boiled eggs according to the directions. One white egg and one brown egg. The brown egg peeled perfectly while the white egg left whites stuck in the shell. Next day I tried the same thing but turned out opposite. conclusion is that the product peels better than I can either way. Sometimes perfect sometimes not so perfect. For the most part it works out good. I do not know if the not as good is genetics or just different effects on eggs in boiling. $15 for one seems a bit high though. Over rated ? Most likely. Better than peeling them myself though. ... show more

  • Egg-cellent!
Color: Blue
I bought this on a whim and was skeptical it would work even "half way" decently. I was more than pleasantly surprised! It works as advertised - very easy to use and clean up is a breeze (just rinse it out)! Making deviled eggs is twice as fast because peeling them is so much easier and faster. I highly recommend this product if you love hard-boiled eggs but hate the hassle of peeling. ... show more

  • Works with some caveats...
Color: Black
So I bought this as I saw it on a YouTube short of the best kitchen gadgets to buy. I make my entire family deviled eggs every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. That's on average about 30-40 eggs to hard boil and peel. It normally takes me 2-4 hours to peel everything and about 5-6 eggs are useless because they broke during peeling. Did I mention I HATE peeling hard boiled eggs? So when I saw this I of course had to have it. A previous review said that this thing works ONLY if you follow the instructions. Well the instructions say to boil the eggs for 11 minutes. Add a minute for larger eggs. I use store bought Grade AA eggs. I have always been taught to boil eggs for 20 minutes AFTER the water starts to boil. I do live at 6k feet of elevation. In school we did experiments to find the perfect boil time and we concluded that 18 minutes was the perfect time. So when the instructions said to boil for 11 minutes, I called Hogwash. Well I did it per instructions boiling 2 eggs. Then ice bath for 5 minutes. Then it says to pour 1/4 water into the device , insert boiled egg and shake vigorously for 6 or 7 times. I followed the instructions to the letter and ended up with egg soup. Threw that in the trash and tried again on the second egg. same result. So I boiled 2 eggs MY way and ice bathed them. Then used 1/4 or little less water, dropped in the egg and GENTLY shook the egg in the container just enough to crack the exterior which was maybe about 4 shakes. Pulled the egg out and the shell came right off, easy pezy. Tried with the second and same result. My conclusion is to boil the eggs normally as you know how and the time that you normally do. Add in a little less than 1/4 cup water and do NOT shake it hard, no need to. Don't need soup here. Just enough so the egg is cracked all the way around. if the egg fails to crack, go again a little longer. Trail and error will tell you how long and hard to do it. Therefore I do say this works and will cut my peeling time down by a substantial amount. However, I took off a star for incorrect instructions. ... show more

  • It is not an egg peeler... it is an egg shell cracker!
Color: Yellow
works perfectly. It is not an egg peeler... it is an egg shell cracker! the goal is just to impact or fracture the egg enough to enable you to peel away the shell. I think the ones failing are trying to get the whole egg shell to peel away inside the cylinder and the time it might take for the egg shell to fall off or disintegrate you could have removed the egg from the cylinder and peeled off the shell in a fraction of the time of shaking it. With a small amount of water and 2/3 shakes you can hear and feel the egg crack with a thud. stop, dont try shaking more, just pull out the egg and start peeling it. Trust me, it will peel much faster than doing it the traditional way. Sometimes it takes 5 seconds and sometimes it takes 1 second to remove the shell. It usually took me 2 to 5 minutes to peel 1 egg. was frustrating to say the least. Factors to Consider; 1.) If your egg ends like soup, it is either your egg was not hard boiled enough. 2.) use less vigor than you would use a salt shaker. should just be enough force for egg to travel from one end to other. Start gently, you can hear the egg and feel the egg shell break/crack and then stop. 3.) too little water or too much water. I add enough water to be about level with the yellow cap and the clear cylinder meet. ... show more

  • Good investment
Color: Black
Seems to work well. Sometimes, a small piece of shell remains but it is easily removed. Use a certain amount of decorum when shaking.....

  • its....ok!
Color: Yellow
so let me say i boiled 20 eggs. then after they were done boiling i put them in cold water with ice for 20 minutes and put each one of the eggs in this little thing. it works ok. about 7 of my eggs came out damaged , 3 were destroyed completely. 10 were good! so it has a 50 / 50 chance of working! i suggest being patient with this as going ham on it will def ruin eggs, and with the economy and egg prices you dont want that! i used this for my eggs, i need to make deviled eggs. so like its ok, half of them i cant use. im going to try it again later before deciding if keeping it is worth it. sometimes the egg shells peel right off, other times trying to peel it off will take some of the white with it. i would give this a 5 out of 10. its not bad but it could be better especially for the price! ... show more
