  • Workout Journal to assure growth
I powerlift competitively, having a journal where I can write out my (4) week cycles are very important to me. Not only listing exercises, that week’s goal. But also results, having a place to make comments such as how I felt, what could I do differently. What do I need to concentrate on for a better lift, form? Intensity? rest? All important to write down, review before I lift that body part again. Very sturdy book, lots of area to not only chart that cycle but to review. My lifting partner wants me to order him one as well as he was watching me put arrows up or down on assistance lifts. Plus the book marker with quotes from Arnold are a plus. About to attempt my 5th USA National powerlifting championship and hopefully go to my third world championship.   • Better than making my own
I've been writing down my workouts for over a decade. Prior to this, I favored just some nice spiral bound, hard covered notebooks that were durable and convenient to buy at a local store. Recently, that product has gone out of production, so I was looking for something else and decided to give this a shot. I actually really like the layout of the normal workout pages, and there is plenty of room for me to record everything that I've done in a day. The size of the journal isn't huge, and it seems well built. There are some good pages in there for beginners, which I haven't found necessary, but could very well be helpful. I also like the goal tracking sections. My only "complaint" would be that I would like a 150-page journal as that is roughly the number of workouts that I would have in a year (52 weeks x3 workouts per week). This one will get me part of the way through a year, but not all the way. ... show more

Absolutely excellent if you have any real aspirations to finally stop saying you're going to do it and actually do it!! Writing down and visualizing your goals, plans and successes is essential to making real progress! The hard cover is excellent for a mobile writing surface when in the gym and helps keep the inner pages safe from being stepped on or weights being dropped on them. The week to week and monthly check ups are a great way to reflect on how you've done, where you're headed and how you can ensure you attain your goals.   • Perfect tool for tracking my training and goals
I like the overall setup of the journal. For years, I just used a blank notebook, but I was not as consistent as I have found I am with this journal. Honestly, I don't have anything I would change about it. Sometimes I will do more than 6 sets, but when I do, I just take a 2nd line for that exercise/movement. I also like the check-in pages they created. Those are very handy to have. And if you don't want to do a 6 month check-in but, for whatever reason, want an 8 month check-in, just scratch out the 6 and write an 8... This journal provides structure without making you feel like you are forced into someone else's structure. Best training log I've ever seen. Thank you. ... show more

  • Great for Olympic Weightlifters, too
Ordered for my wife 4 months ago and these are her words: "This log is the only one I've used consistently because it's practical, and aside from the first few introductory pages, doesn't have wasted space. The page layout is perfect & organized well for Olympic Weightlifting sessions - I write the movement in the Exercise column and then track the number of reps and the weight for each rep count in the Set columns. Also plenty of room for workout notes. It is so easy to use and to look back on prior lifting history. The log book is also very sturdy and travels well in my packed gym bag. The wire spine has no breaks, so you don't lose any pages! I've wasted so much money on other useless/frivolous logs. Never again. This product is fantastic, easily one of most well thought out workout journals! Can easily be tailored to whatever type of fitness or workouts you do, I use it for a combination of weight training and cardio. The check-in and check-out pages are great, and I love the addition of a goals and motivation section; not to mention the detailed muscle diagrams and suggested workouts! Seems to be very well made, has enough pages for 6 months worth of record keeping, and the covers and bindings should actually last that long!
