  • I like this product fine, and it is environmentally friendly
This product works as expected. I REALLY like the neutral, subtle smell. It is unisex, and doesn't leave a lasting perfume-y odor on the hair. Does not smell too strong, and doesn't smell like artificial fragrance or chemicals. Nice slim, small packaging size. Easy to pack because it's light, the lids stay on, and it's too thick to spill. I accidentally dropped the open shampoo in a full bathtub and it didn't get thinned out or ruined, i was able to just pour off the water. I think it is reasonable that the shampoo will contain over 50 uses for most people. The tins could be re-used or easily recycled. Nice that there's no plastic. I have long hair that is thinning, and i need products that provide detangling. I also live in a very dry climate. I found this shampoo and conditioner to be good for my hair. It cleans my scalp and hair, not too drying, and it's smooth after conditioning. Seems gentle enough for anyone to use. To point out any room for improvement, a bottle with a pump is obviously easier. It's a little weird to open the tin in the shower and try to not drop the lid and also keep excess water out of the tin and also smear out the right amount. Also, since it is quite concentrated, it feels like you have to rub it around a lot to mix it in the hair with water and get it distributed well, which can feel like it's tangling the hair. The tin doesn't arrive sealed or with a sticker or anything to indicate if it's been opened already, and mine arrived with what looked like a finger swirl through the surface of the shampoo. ... show more

  • TSA carry on friendly and weightless cleaning/conditioning
This is a super condensed shampoo and conditioner, conveniently packaged in travel-friendly screw-top metal tins. I could open the shampoo easily enough, but had to enlist my husband's help to open the conditioner (thankfully, just after getting it and not while in the shower) because it was screwed on so tightly. I was sure to retighten them just enough that they're easy to open again. The shampoo is a lot firmer than the conditioner, so it took a little effort to get enough out. You do have to have very wet hair and hands for it to work properly, so while it didn't lather at first, once I added a little more water it was much better. The conditioner is firm, but creamier--the package had apparently been turned upside down in transit because while there was only the smallest amount of the shampoo on the lid, the conditioner lid was covered with it. It has a very pleasant citrusy smell, which is slightly lingering on dried hair. I used my detangler brush after showering, then blow dried, and my hair is soft and manageable with the curls/waves I'm used to. This will be perfect for my next trip--I'll probably stick with my usual shampoo and conditioner at home so I don't use it up too quickly, but it's a fabulous hair product for air travel and camping. ... show more

  • Effective Cleansing, Subtle Citrus Scent, Eco-Friendly Tins
I recently tried Everist The Haircare Essentials Duo, which comes in two 3.4 fl oz tins—a shampoo concentrate and a conditioner. The semi-solid shampoo was a bit of a mystery at first, but I ended up using it like a shampoo bar, swiping my dampened hair across the tin. To my surprise, just a tiny bit produced a rich lather that effectively cleansed my hair. I used it after a scalp oil treatment, and it had no problem forming lather or leaving my hair squeaky clean after just one wash. That’s something my regular shampoos struggle with—usually requiring a double wash to fully remove oils. The conditioner, by contrast, was more straightforward to use. It’s softer and easier to apply than the shampoo. While it did its job well, I found it less impressive compared to the shampoo. I still needed to use a leave-in conditioner and detangler afterwards, which is typical for me regardless of what conditioner I use. My air-dried hair ended up feeling soft, holding its natural curls well, and had a bit more volume than usual. I also enjoyed the unisex citrusy scent—it’s fresh without being overwhelming. Overall, I’d definitely consider re-purchasing the shampoo for its performance and ease of use. ... show more

  • ok, but not any better than other equally priced products
I've been using Prose for a while, but wanted to try something different and was intrigued by the packaging that seems very conducive to taking the products along when I travel. Packaging: There is no seal or protective cover on the container, which always makes me wonder if I'm getting a product someone else already opened and returned. The shampoo opened up immediately, but the conditioner was absolutely impossible to open. Three people tried and failed. When I tried one last time, the container slipped from my hands and fell on the tile floor, putting a big dent on one side. I figured that would for sure keep it from opening, but interestingly enough, I was able to open it after that. So I guess if you struggle to open yours, drop it on the floor! I now leave the lids only partially screwed on so that I can open them more easily in the shower with wet or slippery hands. Product: It smells nice and fresh - maybe a citrus/rosemary combination? Take out a blob of the shampoo and rub it in your hands to create some lather before you apply it to your hair, otherwise it won't spread very well. It says to use a dime sized amount, which doesn't seem enough for hair that's even medium length, let alone longer hair. The conditioner is thicker and spreads even less, so I had to use much more than a dime sized amount to get my hair feeling the same as with my regular conditioner. Overall my hair feels fine using these products, but not any better (or worse) than with other more mainstream products or the more expensive Prose subscription products. I'll keep using Everist until I run out and will likely make it my travel product, but I doubt I'll purchase it again. ... show more

  • Great for traveling 🩷
I love the portability of this shampoo and conditioner tins. Applying the first time was odd as I've never used a container as such so I only grabbed a little bit and I learned that a little goes a long way. It smells nice too 🩷
