Description

In 1990 Mark Waid's legendary writing career began when he scripted his first issue of The Flash. Waid continued to work on Wally West for nearly a decade, building a world that would keep the character running for years after Waid's departure to other titles. Under Waid's keen pen, Wally West gained a new depth of character that changed The Flash for good. In this next graphic novel chapter, the mayor of Keystone asks the Flash to relocate himself away from Keystone City -- but trouble still manages to find the Fastest Man Alive in his new home of Santa Marta. First, the Flash saves a presidential candidate from the Top, a member of the Rogues. The, Mr. Frost strikes -- and his illusions threaten to destroy both the Flash and his new home. And when word spreads that the Flash has moved to a new city, several of his greatest foes show up to cause trouble, including the earthquake causing Major Disaster! The sixth volume of The Flash by Mark Waid collects The Flash 119-128 and the two-part series Green Lantern and The Flash: Faster Friends, Flash Plus Nightwing 1, Showcase '96 12 and a story from DC Univserse Holiday Bash 1 Read more

  • THE GREATEST COMIC RUN OF ALL TIME
Format: Paperback
Mark Waid's Flash run is a LEGENDARY run in not only the history of Flash but in the History of DC Comics. Book 6 collects the last of his first stint on the book before Grant Morrison/Mark Millar temporarily took over. This is a great book which collects one of my favorite stories FASTER FRIENDS, which is a Green Lantern and Flash crossover with Kyle and Wally (and Alan and Jay). It also has Nightwing/Flash #1 which is such a fun issue. Definitely buy this book and hopefully, we can get a Waid Book 7 featuring Dark Flash and Chain Lightning! ... show more

  • Took a while to arrive
Format: Paperback
So this book did take quite a while to arrive but when it did I was happy. The book was packaged well and considering the price I'm glad it was. Would buy from this vendor again.

  • Shaky, but still good
Format: Kindle
We are at the end of Waid's first run on the book, and you can tell the man needs a break. The writing isn't bad, per se... it is just kinda bland and often lacks the spark that carried it through earlier issues. That takeover Morrison and Millar can not come fast enough since it definitely feels like Waid is spinning his wheels. Ironically, the art gets better but still remains firmly in the 90s. I miss Wieringo more and more. ... show more

  • Definitely the weakest of Waid's books so far. But still fun.
Format: Kindle
This book gets off to a strong start, but then it kinda nosedives, keep in mind it’s still a fun book but it’s not up to the usual standards that the previous books set up, but it’s still fun, and it does pick itself back up with the Hell to Pay story at the end.

  • Missing key points in description
Format: Paperback
This book came from the Dallas Public Library and had library check out tags taped all over it as well as being stamped “property of the Dallas Public Library” on top. Don’t know if it was purchased from the library or not but none of this was disclosed in the description and certainly makes the book worthless, let alone what I paid for it. ... show more
